New Dance Events at INHABIT is Bluecoat’s three year programme of New Dance, which champions both the independent dancer and the role of non-dance specialists, in the making of new work. Based at Bluecoat Andrea Buckley, Jo Blowers, Paula Hampson and Mary Prestidge make up the Liverpool Improvisation Collective, the dance behind the INHABIT programme... ABOUT US Workshop: The Interdisciplinary Performer Tue 6 March, 6pm–9pm £8/£6 or £14/£10 combined workshop and performance This professional development workshop with Jacky Lansley and members of the company, drawing on strategies and themes in ABOUT US (see below). Open to dancers, actors, musicians, visual and performance artists, including recent graduates. Presented in partnership with Dance Research Studio. ABOUT US Tue 6 March, 7.30pm £8/£6 Choreographed and directed by Jacky Lansley with music by Sylvia Hallett the performance has been built from personal life stories shared by the performers which reflect extraordinary and everyday experiences. This mixed-media performance brings together an outstanding group of intergenerational artists from dance, visual art, experimental music and theatre.
CI Sundays Sundays, 1pm–5pm Class: £6/£4, Jam: £3, Both class and jam: £8/£5 Liverpool Improvisation Collective (LIC) and our INHABIT project continue to facilitate their monthly CI SUNDAY! These monthly sessions are designed for people interested in movement and improvisation, either as beginners or those with more experience. Participants are welcome to attend the class (1pm–3pm) or Jam (3–5pm) only or both the class and jam. Light Night Duets & Lucy Suggate Friday 18 May, 2018 Pop Up duets which we’ll feature for Light Night. Lucy Suggate Ok Future – funded by Esmee Fairbarne + Duets as part of Light Night 18 May + CI Sundays. Family Weekend Sat 17 Mar – Sun 18 Mar, 10am–4pm Bluecoat’s popular Family Weekend returns with activities inspired by our exhibitions and the history of our iconic building – creative fun led by Bluecoat artists and dancers from Liverpool Improvisation Collective. Their joint presence in the city over the past 20 years has created many opportunities to evolve their work both individually and collectively. The leading independent dance collective explore new pathways for engagement with dance including events, workshops and performances across the region, throughout the year.
