A few days before that analysis was released, Queensland’s

politicians and public servants were confirmed to have received three pay rises before September 2022. Despite often claiming that we are “all in this together” it has been clear that Australia’s political class have detached themselves from the economic realities experienced by private-sector workers, small business owners, and young Australians—three groups particularly affected by lockdowns.
