BRIBIE ISLAND DRIVEWAY UPGRADE Our long-awaited driveway project started Saturday 24th October 2020, with the Southern end slab poured on Wednesday; and the Northern end slab was poured on Saturday 31st October.

SUPER BUSY WEDNESDAY MORNING The “bobcat” made light work of removing the bitumen and levelling the driveway, in readiness for the concrete pour on Wednesday!

1. First of the new concrete driveways is poured. 2. Bribie 1 comes out of the water for its 20hrs service on the new Yamaha 250hp Outboards. 3. Assist with vessel that needed a tow into Spinnaker Sound Marina. 4. Six new trainees doing their theory exams for the VMRAQ Shipboard Safety Module. 5. Plus clean out of the garage area ready for polling day on Saturday. 6. Plus a visit from the owner of Northside Marine to check on the new Yamaha Outboards.

Vice Commodore Ces Luscombe finally caught up with Radio Operator Wayne Beeton and presented him with his Father’s Day present from his daughter in Tasmania, who paid for her father’s membership to VMR and as part of the package received a VMR Coffee Mug, some VMR Stubby Coolers and Stickers.

Officer Graham Gibb got the ok, he had a very important presentation to make our 2019 Emergency Services Young Ambassador Tahnee Gordon with a pictorial book of all of her hard work as the Emergency Services Young Ambassador. The presentation was made at Bribie Island State School Assembly. Graham thanked Tahnee on behalf of all VMR Bribie members and all the Emergency Services.

SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2020 Another busy day at VMR Bribie Island, with the State Election in progress from 0800am to 1800pm, a large concrete pour on the driveway at the North side of the building (where the voting is being held in our garage), and Green Saturday’s normal crew day. All hoping to beat the impending storm due by mid-afternoon.
