Fishing Activities
Fishability QLD provide a range of socially inclusive fishing and recreational opportunities for people who experience disadvantage and are at risk of social isolation. Without support and assistance, social isolation can impact on people’s ability to participate in the community; it can contribute to or exacerbate depression, anxiety and loneliness and further impact people’s lives leading to homelessness, suicidal ideation and substance abuse. Fishability QLD is peer driven, which means we support you to host your own fishing/boating experience. We encourage our participants to drive their own boating/fishing activities to build confidence and skills. Boat licencing opportunities available upon request. We aim to develop lasting friendships and broader social groups and have fun. “Fish and Forget” Fishability QLD Inc. is registered as a charity with the ACNC. Any profits made are returned to the community to provide FREE and low-cost events for anyone in the community experiencing social isolation.
