B Here
2022/23 Season
Welcome to BroadStage and the 2022/23 Season
You might notice that a change has taken place. We have emerged from the chrysalis of the last two years with a new set of wings— a beautiful new color, a brand new shape—our story of transformation is ready to be shared. Our new look and feel are much more than cosmetic. They reflect the path we have selected to travel in our programming and as a gathering place for new ideas in our community. Our signature electric magenta color speaks to our promise to be bold and to bring visually arresting and energizing works to our stages. The new “B” logo invites each of us to “B” as we are, to bring our authentic selves to this welcoming space and B joyful, B moved, and B inspired. Shortening our name to just one word, BroadStage, is meant to suggest that you will get a backstage glimpse at the creative process by getting to know our artists, their practices, and the impact of their engagement within the community. You will also get up close and personal with their art on stage in our beautiful and intimate theater, where every seat is a great seat. This is a season of stage magic, beautiful imagery, moving and personal stories, and of course, our signature concert series that flourishes in this acoustic marvel of a venue. Be here as artists rise up to meet the challenges of our time and uplift us all through their own personal reflections and their visions of what we might achieve at this critical juncture in human history. From the Anthony Newly and Leslie Bricusse classic The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd, came this lyric and music, made famous by generations of singers from Nina Simone to George Michael, “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life . . .” and we’re feeling good. Rob Bailis, Artistic & Executive Director
