About the Cambridge Union Society The Cambridge Union Society, the world’s oldest University debating society and Cambridge’s largest student society, is delighted to open up special membership packages to non-Cambridge students who are either resident in the CB postcode area or in a corporate and private equity capacity. The Cambridge Union is a forum for free speech and debate where we host a broad range of speakers from politicians to activists to Hollywood stars, accommodating the interests of every member. We aim to continue improving the calibre of speakers and debates so that our members receive value for their membership fee and the Union remains the hub of free speech and debate at the University.

Cambridge Resident Member Following 250 years of being a student-only society, we are delighted to be opening membership to those not associated with the University, but are a part of our local community. Resident Members contribute to the conservation of this historic building and society. CB Membership will be exclusive to those residents in the CB postcode area.

Membership benefits are: • •

CB memberships are capped at 50 per calendar year.


Corporate Membership Patron of the Union Patrons enable the Society to pursue our more ambitious projects, such as providing membership bursaries. This is a critical component in our mission to ensure broad access for all students. Patrons contribute to our ongoing redevelopment projects.

Room Bookings 8. Room bookings are subject to availability. During term, bookings are also subject to President’s (via Corporate Communications) approval. Bookings can be made via the CUSEL Office. No refunds will be offered if membership is cancelled before the membership year is over;
