The Club offers activities for the entire family, including an 18 hole championship golf course, 10 lighted tennis courts, wellness & fitness center, swim club, dining and banquet facilities. The Carolina Country Club Community, nestled on approximately 1400 acres in the rolling hills of Upstate South Carolina, is located just seven miles from downtown Spartanburg, only five miles from Interstate 26, and 22 miles from the Greenville- Spartanburg International Airport. THE GOLF CLUB Our golf course, designed by Tom Jackson in 1984, is considered one of the best, most playable golf courses in the Upstate and has been host to PGA Nationwide Tour, USGA and Carolinas Golf Association Championships. The 72 par, 18 hole championship layout has been designed with a full range of golfers in mind. With six sets of tees, the golf course can be set up to challenge the highest level of player while still being fun and rewarding from every set of tees. The rolling hills of the Carolina Upstate, tree lined fairways and several pristine lakes and streams make The Carolina Country Club not only a challenging course, but one of pure natural beauty as well. For players who demand the highest standards, The Carolina Country Club is the answer. At The Carolina Country Club, we take the game seriously. A state of the art practice facility is the focal point of our game improvement emphasis and is one of the finest in the area. The practice range tee (over 46,000 square feet in size) can accommodate an entire tournament while giving you the privacy that you require while working on your own game. A separate, dedicated 100 yard pitching area, chipping and putting green provide unlimited short game practice opportunities. Our practice facility is one that you may expect at a world-class resort or PGA TOUR stop; however it is all yours at The Carolina Country Club. WELLNESS & FITNESS CENTER This new 4,000 square foot facility includes more than 30 exercise machines and workout stations, free weights, suspension trainers and numerous other exercise aids designed to offer a complete fitness training regimen for our Members. The Carolina Country Club Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
What are the terms of Membership? All Members will be asked to sign the Membership Agreement and 30 days notice will be required for resignation or cancellation. What is considered a Couple? A Couple is the primary Member plus any one designated dependent family member. (Examples: husband and wife, father and dependent daughter, mother and dependent son, etc.) What are the age requirements for Young Adult and Senior categories? Young Adult Members are under age 35 and Senior Members are age 65 and over. Dues rates change automatically based on age. What are the requirements for Non-Resident status? To qualify, Non-Resident Members may not maintain a full or part time residence within 25 miles of the Club. What is the Annual Capital Fee? The Annual Capital Fee is equal to one month’s dues in every category and is due upon enrollment and each calendar year on your enrollment anniversary date. The funds collected will be used for depreciable asset repair or replacement, or other approved Capital Improvements. If I choose an Individual Membership will my family be able to use the Club? Local Family members of an Individual Member may use the Club only when accompanied by the Individual Member and upon payment of the appropriate Guest Fee. They will also be limited to six golf, tennis or pool visits per calendar year, as is the case for all Local Guests. The six visit limitation does not apply to use of the dining facilities. What are the Guest Rates for Dependent Family Guests? The Guest Rate for Dependent Family varies depending on the area of the Club used and day of week, but they are generally approximately 35% off the non-family rate.
Will all Members be required to spend a minimum in Food & Beverage? Since our Club does not operate a public restaurant with a broad customer base, all Members need to do their part to support the Food & Beverage facilities. This will ensure quality operations and consistency. As such, all Members are asked to spend a modest minimum in Food & Beverage. The amount of the minimum will depend on your membership level. Food and Beverage Minimums are billed every three months, dependent on your last name. Your unused minimum is listed every month at the bottom of your statement. If I choose to walk when I play golf, is there a discount or reduction in my dues? Walking when playing golf is allowed any time however there is no reduction in dues for those Members who chose not to use a cart. How will the complimentary PGA Professional Golf Coaching work? We believe that Members who play better will enjoy their Club more and our PGA Professionals want to help. At least twice each week (a schedule will be established seasonally), one of our Pros will be at the range or short game complex for 90 minutes at a time to provide “Open Coaching” sessions to all Members seeking assistance. The Pro on duty will share his/her time among all those visiting the practice area during the “Open Coaching” sessions. You will receive individual attention and this will not be a clinic or group session. This is a great opportunity to have a trained instructor’s eye check your grip, alignment, swing plane, balance, putting stroke, or many other aspects of your game. You can also use these sessions to introduce your spouse or a child to the game in an informal and relaxed setting. While our PGA Professionals will also continue to offer private individual lessons, clinics and other avenues for instruction, we hope these “Open Coaching” sessions will make the game easier and more enjoyable for our Members. What is the status of the Wellness & Fitness Center? That facility is under construction and scheduled to be open in March of 2015. It will have 4,000 square feet of exercise/workout space with more than 30 pieces of equipment, free weights, suspension trainers and other fitness tools. There will also be a Studio for exercise classes and an Activity Room with motion games such as table tennis, air hockey, fooseball, Wii and more. As a Non-Golf Member will I be able to play golf occasionally? Non-Golf Members will not have access to the golf facilities except as an Accompanied Guest of a Full Privilege Member, up to the limit of six times per calendar year.
