Ride For Cole-Man

By: P.J. Davis

When you think of the fall season, there are a lot of things that come to mind. Halloween, Leaves turning colors, cooler temperatures, and pumpkin spice flavored everything. If you choose to dress up in weird costumes after raking your yard while telling your Mom to fire up the furnace before she leaves to Starbucks, that’s your choice. But there is another way to send off summer and honestly, it’s the way we prefer. The Outer Banks Bike Fest 2020!

Trust us when we say that it really put a stick in our spokes when the decision was made to change our ever-so-popular Bike Week due to the pandemic. We wanted to make sure all the biker guys and gals, along with their families, as well as our dedicated staff were safe and healthy, But while we planned on rocking out with Bike Week, the time off gave us a chance to power up for Bike Fest.

The local Sheriff said we can start the noise complaints on September 23rd and carry it on ‘till the 27th. Grab your kids, pack up the family car and your saddlebags and start heading towards the HD icon of the Outer Banks in Harbinger at 8739 Caratoke Hwy. Throw that in your fancy GPS and just rip up the asphalt until you feel the ground shaking and see the sea of chrome!

We ain’t having no social distance get-together with 10 people or less. We are expecting for 1000s to come out and cause trouble with us from morning at 9 am each day until we see the blue lights. There will be all kinds of stuff to get into throughout the days so you can be an early-bird or a night owl. From vendors to make your bike and you look good to the scheduled H.O.G rides so you can show off your gear that you have to explain to your wife later. We all get hungry. Outer Banks Harley-Davidson has that covered with food trucks and tents and when you’re ready to hang with us for awhile, toss the wife your keys and let’s hit the beer tent before rocking out with the live bands.

While you mosey around, remember; you are at a Harley Dealership. Just because we are partying in the front doesn’t mean we can’t do business in the back. Outer Banks HarleyDavidson has over 100 badass machines in stock. You’re bound to stumble across one that makes you forget the one you rode

in on. Once you convince the “ole lady” to let you buy a new one, Outer Banks Harley-Davidson can work the magic needed to get you to the party, in the office and down the road on the Harley-Davidson of your dreams. How you ask? Well, you’ll just have to stop by. Magicians never reveal their tricks! Now of course because it’s us, you should know we didn’t stop there. Even with all the grub, tunes, bikes and beer that will be at the dealership, the party stretches into the Outer Banks itself all the way to Nags Head Harley with some more distractions along the way. Nags Head Harley-Davidson (4104 S. Virginia Dare Trail ) will have the demo truck! That means you can test ride that 114 CI Street Glide you’ve been dreaming about using to replace your wife’s car in the garage. Want to try something new? The demo truck isn’t just a truck; it’s a fleet. You got a fighting chance at the 2020 debut models too. Not far down the road is the newest addition to our family; First Flight Harley-Davidson (1808 S. Croatan Hwy).

You won’t be able to miss it since they will have a tent to hide their own party from the local authorities and if you feel the urge to fire up your bike, they’re also hosting a charity ride. Grab you some new threads and show it off. Not enough? There will be other businesses scattered about the OBX that are aiding and abetting us!

Still not enough? Feel like getting away for a bit? North Carolina isn’t the only place we roam. We have an iconic dealership in Portsmouth, Virginia as well. Bayside Harley-Davidson / Bayside Ducati is planted at 2211 Frederick Blvd. We packed that building full with over 100 machines as well and it’s always a party.

Wanna make it an even longer trip? District Harley could be a good spot for ya. Set in stone at 7830 Airpark Rd in Gaithersburg, Maryland. With BMWs, Ducatis and of course, HarleyDavidsons in stock, there’s more than you can shake a v-twin at. 2020 has been a rough one. But like all of our customers, you can knock us down but you can’t knock us out. We plan on making the best out of a bad situation and just like when you claim a new Harley, we WILL deliver.
