Deathwish Motor Culture 3 rd Annual Bike & Stunt Show

There are priorities in this world, and when there is a Deathwish event, the priority is: Get there, and get ready to have a good time. Deathwish Motor Culture based out of Cameron, NC carries a nationwide following of its killer apparel line and stunt shows but consists of a whole lot more than you see on the surface. On May 11th they held their 3rd annual bike and stunt show, and after hanging with them on a few other occasions, I knew this was an event that I didn’t want to miss. We knew they would put on a hell of a party no matter what, because last year they carried a big crowd in the rain. This year, there were multiple storms running around the state, but at the Wing Co, it was sunny, dry and there was a string of bikes parked out the side of the building by the patio. Did I mention it was hot? No worries, Beth and Britney were slinging drinks and keeping the dust down. The Wing Co. carries an awesome menu, full ABC permits and good selection of beers on tap.

held down the DW merch tent and sold 50/50 tickets by the stretch! It wasn’t long before Jeremy, Cody, Dustin and Joe of the Deathwish Stunt Crew cleared the lanes to rip some wheelies and have a little fun. Wheelie after wheelie came rolling down the way while the crowd shot pics and cheered them on. Once the burnouts started the whole area was smoked out, and they finished off lined up on the curb with all four bikes burning down. Fun side note, these guys once had the fire department called on them during a burnout contest cause a cager riding by saw so much smoke that they thought the building was on fire! The Crew parked their bikes and the lane filled back up with bikes for the Bike Show. Sweet plaques, made by the talented Colley Woodworks were handed out for Best Bobber, Best Metric, Best Softail, Best Dyna/FXR, Best Bagger and Best In Show! The Best in Show was determined by people’s choice voting and Kristen from The Rebel Spirit took home the honors along with a $75 gift certificate from Hot Rod Tattoos in Sanford, $45 cash and a bike feature in the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine. Joie and her team had been selling stretches of tickets all day long and there was a pile of goodies from Deathwish Motor Culture, Lowbrow Customs, The Rebel Spirit, Cooley Woodworks, Cody Roundtree Custom Paint, Hotrod Tattoo and more. They pulled tickets for at least 30 minutes giving away door prizes. After a while the door prizes wound down, but the party did not. We did eventually get a rain shower, but it didn’t take anything away from the day. I wanna personally thank Jeremy, Joie and the rest of the Deathwish Crew and friends and the Wing Co., for another great time. This is a good group of folks who know how to put it down and take care of their community at the same time. This year’s event

benefited 6 year old Blake Shore who was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis at birth. The 50/50 was won and respectably given back and with the other proceeds $1700 was raised to help out with ongoing medical costs. Well done y’all.
