3 Bike Nights In 3 Hours

By Buzz

One thing the triad area of North Carolina has is killer bike

nights. Just head in any direction, you will end up at a bike night. Thursday is a particular hotbed of bike nights. Thursday, April 4th I headed out to see what I could get into. It was Ted’s Famous Chicken’s bike night kickoff of

the year. Ted’s is an easy choice and has a bike night that is tried and true. I started my evening there with a couple hundred of my closest friends all jamming out to Double Down. This acoustic duo is always fun to watch and pull out hits right

and left. The bar was packed but the bartenders were in stride and had no problem keeping the masses from getting parched.

After some normal tire kicking, chewing the fat and whatnot, I needed to get in a little more riding. No worries, Smokin’ Harley-Davidson is right down the road and they were putting on their monthly bike night bike show complete with cash prizes. I cruised on down there and to see what Bill Dotson and GM Ray Perry had up their sleeve. There were a dozen or so sweet rides in the show I was glad I wasn’t among the judges at this show. and Shannon Rights was there to help Bill and Ray pick the winners. The Smokin’ crew knows how to make bikers happy and even had a keg of FREE beer. That’s right, a bike show with cash prizes and free beer. Anthony was manning the keg and perfecting the pour. The judges did their thing and a beautiful 95th anniversary Lowrider took top honors. Well, the night was still young and good thing for me Xtreme Wings-N-Things is just up the hill from Smokin’ and guess what? That’s right, it’s bike night! Xtreme always brings the heat on bike night and had the Thrillbillies on the inside stage. By now, I saw some of my friends who had also started their night at Ted’s had migrated to Xtreme to keep the party going. Lemme tell you, this place was packed! The pool tables were

crackin’, the band was jamming, the bar was rocking and the back porch was popular as usual.

Man, I love Thursday nights. this was only one of many combinations of bike nights going on within a reasonable

distance. It’s getting warm out there y’all, Let’s ride! Check out the Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine Bike Night page and pick a couple out and make some rounds! Live Life Full Throttle!
