PROFITABILITY POWER.

Reliable, registered Angus genetics deliver better calving ease, more growth and superior marbling.

There’s a lot of talk when it comes to certain genetics. But no breed can back it like registered Angus.

USDA analysis shows the superiority of Angus at every stage.

Reliable, registered Angus genetics offer lower birth weight, greater growth and substantially better marbling than Hereford, Red Angus and Simmental.a That’s based on real data, not hype. Plus, they’re backed by the world’s largest and most reliable genetic evaluation program. Angus calves also bring higher prices than similar calves of any other breed, a combined average of nearly $7/cwt.b more, on average. In fact, packers pay Angus producers $1 million in premiums per week.c Year after year, Angus simply offers the best genetics and payout possible. Take the guesswork out of bull buying. Invest in reliable, registered Angus genetics.

Heterosis. Real Money. Real Fast. Scan this QR code, or visit gobrang.us/cmoct16, and enter to win a $250 credit toward Brangus or Ultrablack genetics from any IBBA member in 2016.

The science, as well as dollars and cents, behind this phenomenon are well documented. The increase in production from using Brangus and Ultrablack genetics in a crossbreeding program amounts to $186 annually/cow exposed, as well as a 38% increase in longevity, when compared to a straight-bred breeding program. Furthermore, research has proven a crossbreeding program with Brangus genetics shows an increase in production of 25-30% over a crossbreeding program combining two English and/or Continental Breeds. The science is real, the results are real, and the dollars are certainly real! Drs. Willie and Monnie Carol Carter, Hope Hull, AL“We added 100# to our weaning weights the first year. This was just from using Brangus sires. Now those calves are 825 pounds at shipping. We didn’t change anything else. Heterosis is responsible for that increase in weaning weights.”

Brangus. More than maternal.

EARLY EVERY COW- CALF PRODUCER IN THIS COUNTRY HAS

some degree of awareness of the management practice known as artificial insemination (AI). Surveys indicate that approximately 10 percent of beef females are mated through AI every year. Artificial insemination combined with estrous synchronization offers significant economic and management advantages for the producer. AI combined with estrous synchronization will allow for higher service rates in the first week of the breeding season compared to natural service scenarios. Higher service rates with typical conception rates will result in a larger percentage of the calf crop born earlier in the calving season through AI. More cows calving earlier in the calving season will result in a more uniform calf crop, producing older and heavier calves at weaning. Higher pregnancy rates earlier in the breeding season can help the producer shorten the length of the calving season, which can simplify overall herd management. Today’s beef economy presents many opportunities for the cow-calf producer. Regardless of the type of cattle that one chooses to produce, cattle are extremely valuable and the customer demands a high quality product for their investment. The producer must strive to produce a high quality animal with the genetics to meet the demands of their targeted customers. The use of AI allows the producer to use the best beef genetics available when compared to the typical natural service sire. Artificial insemination offers the tools to assist the cattleman in their effort to produce efficient productive beef cattle.

November 11, 2016 (Veteran’s Day) 3:00 p.m. - Cattle on display 6:00 p.m. - Certified Hereford Beef Dinner 7:00 p.m. - Nolan Pick Band Guest speaker: Shane Bedwell, Director of Breed Improvement, American Hereford Association

Private treaty yearling bull sales will commence at 5:00 p.m. Noack Herefords was established in 1921 by E.H. Noack. His son Leon earned his animal science degree from Texas A&M in 1952, and he came home so full of great ideas, that E.H. decided to turn the ranch over to him. Leon spent countless hours studying pedigrees and collecting performance data, and was an early adopter of the Total Performance Registry program. He focused on creating the ideal mama cow, improving birth weights, milking ability, and longevity. Leon spent time working as a meat grader, which taught him the value of consistently producing delicious, tender meat. Today, we hold true to Grandad’s values by diligently collecting data, and focusing on maternal traits, while maintaining the excellent carcass merit he achieved years ago. We firmly believe that form follows function, and that the most functional cows will also be the most profitable. Our bull customers are mostly commercial, and while they may own anywhere from 12 to several thousand head, our bulls are bred to perform well in any business model, just as they are bred to perform in any environment. Noack Herefords is comprised of 4 divisions that cooperate to sell 35 bulls, and 60 replacement females (30 registered Hereford, 30 golden certified F1s) annually from a herd of about 300 primarily Line 1 cows.
