Generation ZeroMerlo's Sustainable and ZeroEmissions Path Forward

Plantworx 2023 will see the launch of the all new fully electric Merlo eCINGO adding to the Merlo Generation Zero family.

Merlo first previewed a working concept of a Hybrid Diesel/Electric telescopic handler in 2013. As such Merlo are no newcomers to the drive to produce a range of products emitting fewer emissions. The lack of commercially viable batteries and associated components saw the project remain as a concept and catalyst for future designs.

Generation Zero -Fast forward to 2023 and that 2013 concept has borne the reality that is now the emissions free Generation Zero range from Merlo. A commitment from this family-owned company to establish a cleaner, greener and sustainable future for its products. An ongoing focus on this environmental goal has already seen the creation of a number of Merlo models to reduce harmful emissions and play a part in helping Merlo users in their drive to achieve their Net Zero targets.

Merlo eWorker - Launched at the end of 2021 the 100% electric eWorker telescopic handler was designed from scratch re-writing the rule book, by offering an un-rivalled 8- hour work cycle from a single charge in a telescopic handler.

Entering production during 2022 the Merlo eWorker has quickly found favour across a wide range of applications and industries globally. Whether it be working in a confined space where the lack of emissions and noise permits the eWorker to work for longer without any adverse effects or on-site keeping busy managing material handling effectively and efficiently all without diesel.

A choice of electric charging options including an onboard charging system, allow for the most flexible location independent way of working. The fully recyclable heavy duty LA battery allows for safe, environmentally sound, and effective recycling at the end of the battery’s life. This makes the eWorker a truly sustainable offering.

Merlo ROTO Plug & Play Hybrid – Demonstrating some out of the box thinking by offering a plug-in solution for the company’s market leading range of rotating handlers is the ROTO Plug & Play Hybrid option. Available to specify with any of the Merlo range of rotating ROTO handlers it brings a smarter and greener way of working.

Simply drive to site with speeds of up to 40 km/h using the conventional onboard diesel engine. Once having reached the work site simply remove the mains 3 phase 50 mtr electric cable from its secure storage cabinet. Then once connected to the work sites main supply, electric takes over from diesel for all on-site set up and lifting operations.

Merlo eCINGO - The compact and agile CINGO tracked carrier range from Merlo is popular with many sectors across the UK. Produced by Merlo at their Northwest Italian factory for the last two decades these robust and powerful rubber tracked units offer compatibility with a wide range of Merlo produced attachments. From dumper bodies (including a high tip version), to dozer blades, flail mowers, rotavators and so on they make the perfect all-rounder for a varied range of tasks.

Until now the motive power for the CINGO range has been sourced from either petrol or diesel engines. However, Plantworx 2023 will see the launch of the all new fully electric Merlo eCINGO adding to the Merlo Generation Zero family. This emissions free and silent model packs a punch with its hydrostatic direct drive track motors ensuring it can power through the toughest of work sites whatever the weather. Servo-assisted controls allow for fingertip precision of travel & hydraulic functions.

No longer a need to carry fuel from site to site, simply plug the eCINGO in and let it charge for a continuous work cycle of up to 4 hours.
