Drummer Dan Brubeck and bassist-trombonist-composer Chris Brubeck have been making music together nearly all their lives and began working in the 1970s with their legendary father, pianist-composer Dave Brubeck, who died in 2012.
In this multimedia presentation, the brothers will mark the centennial of their late father’s birth with a tribute that includes stories and images as well as music from his extraordinary life and career. Dave Brubeck, a leading exponent of cool jazz, is perhaps best known for his 1959 album Time Out, which remains one of the most popular and influential jazz records of all time.
