Specifications

• PDF is our preferred file format; .jpg files are also accepted.

• Grayscale and four-color scans are required to be 300 dpi.

• PDFs should be the job size without any excess white space, crop marks, or page information.

• All 4 colors must be in CMYK format. Ensure all colors are prepared for process-color (CMYK) separations.

• Be sure to check all text, logos, scans, and photos. Make sure your black is 100%K, not a CMYK mix.

• BW ads should not have any color elements. Photos need to be greyscale.

• 4 color ads are CMYK. Convert all PMS colors and RGB color to CMYK. All black text should only be on the black plate.

• Font size size should not be smaller than 6 pt.

Advertising Policy

• The advertiser agrees that they have read “Tips for Designing on Newsprint” and CJN Specifications provided with this agreement and accepts responsibility for the quality of ads that are designed outside of these specifications.

• Advertising is billed after publication, with payment due within 30 days of billing.

• Please note that advertisements that are 90 days overdue will be discontinued until payment is received in full. Additionally, a 1.5% late charge will be added to the total due. Advertising services will resume the month following payment, ensuring the continuity of your presence in our community newspaper.

• We kindly request a 90-day notice should you wish to discontinue your advertising. During this notice period, the advertiser is responsible for payments. If the rate that corresponds with the actual number of months advertised differs from the number of months at which the rate was established, the final invoice will reflect the difference owed.

• Deadline reminders are a courtesy. If a new ad is not sent to us by the deadline listed, we assume the advertiser wishes to continue to run the previous month’s ad.
