MAISON 21G PARIS LAUNCHES IN QATAR WITH FIRST-EVER BOUTIQUE IN DOHA

With her vast experience in the world of luxury and fashion, Gaia Repossi, Creative Director of Repossi, has been appointed as a member of the Fashion Trust Arabia 2022’s advisory board. The Advisory Board is responsible of selecting 24 finalists who will then get the chance to showcase their work before the FTA Jury. The 2022 Board is stacked with a list of industry powerhouses including fashion experts, designers and professionals. The ceremony itself will be taking place during the week of October 24, 2022 through a series of local activations in Doha, Qatar.

The Turin-born, cult-favorite jewelry designer was a natural fit for the FTA advisory board, who assumed her role at the family business at the young age of 21, and has helped turn Repossi into a brand beloved for its luxe minimalism and contemporary aesthetic. JAEGER-LECOULTRE ANNOUNCES ITS NEWEST AMBASSADOR ANYA TAYLOR-JOY

Jaeger-LeCoultre is delighted to name Anya Taylor-Joy as a new Ambassador for the Maison, marking her debut with a short video A Call of the Heart, based on a symbolic phone call welcoming her into La Grande Maison. During the call Anya wears the Reverso Duetto Small in pink gold, which features a silvery-white dial on the front and a black dial and diamond-set gadroons on the reverse side.

The video was inspired by an historic phone call that was to have a profound impact on the Manufacture LeCoultre. In 1903, Jacques-David LeCoultre made a call to the Parisian watchmaker Edmond Jaeger to accept the latter’s challenge of creating an ultra-thin watch movement – and so began a long and fruitful collaboration that led to the formation of the Jaeger-LeCoultre company. RALPH LAUREN’S PINK PONY INITIATIVE MARKS 22 YEARS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

For more than two decades, Ralph Lauren has been a leader in the fight against cancer. The Pink Pony Initiative, the Company’s global philanthropic program dedicated to cancer care and prevention, supports programs for research, screenings, early diagnosis, treatment, education and patient navigation. This year’s campaign builds upon the Company’s continued commitment to raising awareness and funds around the cause, with donations raised from the annual Pink Pony product collections benefitting the Pink Pony Fund of The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation, as well as an international network of cancer charities.

Advancing the Company’s ongoing Pink Pony efforts, The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation recently announced a $25 million commitment in new grant funding to expand or establish five Ralph Lauren-named cancer centers, including establishing the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, D.C., and the existing Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Ralph Lauren Center. The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation is partnering with Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, to identify the three additional grant recipients, which will each be required to have a National Cancer Institute designation.

In support of this year’s campaign, the Company will donate 100% of the purchase price from the sale of the new Pink Pony Oxford Shirt and Pink Pony Fleece Hoodie and 25% of the purchase price from the sale of the new Pink Pony Cashmere Hoodie, as well as select Polo classics in a pink colorway, to the Pink Pony Fund or to a network of international cancer charities; within the UAE, proceeds benefit Pink Caravan (Registered Charity No. 146) and within Saudi,

proceeds benefit Zahra Association (Registered Charity No. 366). The items will be available in October in select Ralph Lauren stores across the UAE and Saudi.

Throughout the month of October, the Company will feature a series of in-store activations to raise awareness and funds for Pink Pony around the world. Ralph Lauren restaurants and Ralph’s Coffee shops globally will offer signature Pink Pony drinks – the “Pink Pony Cocktail” and “Beet Latte” - with proceeds going to support the Pink Pony Fund or a local cancer organization. In addition, the Company’s flagship stores in New York, China, Korea and Japan will light up their facades in pink. Ralph Lauren Golf Ambassador Billy Horschel will also pledge $1,000 to the Pink Pony Fund for every birdie he makes in October.

The Company will release a special edition of the "Coffee at Ralph's" video series highlighting a powerful conversation between Maria Tucker, a cancer survivor who received treatment at the MSK Ralph Lauren Center, and Jasmine Gibson, one of the nurses that guided her during the process. Together, they reflect on the relationship between patient and caregiver and the difference that can be made through an early diagnosis, sharing the bond built over the course of their journey together.

Pink Pony is a cornerstone program for the Company. Deeply rooted within the fabric of Ralph Lauren’s culture, it brings together all facets of the business from employees coming together to customers making donations all around a central cause. Employees are encouraged to raise awareness by participating in the Company’s global Pink Pony Walks, as well as through fundraising activities and RL Gives Back volunteering events.

DAMAS JEWELLERY SHOWCASES THE FUTURE OF LABGROWN DIAMONDS

Damas Jewellery, the Middle East’s leading house of jewellery design, hosted a star-studded panel event, bringing some of the region’s foremost experts and luxury influencers together to explore the diamonds of tomorrow: lab-grown diamonds.

Held at Bayt Damas — the region’s First Luxury Lifestyle Destination — the eagerly attended engagement was enlivened by a panel discussion entitled “The Rise of the lab-grown Diamond”.

Featuring an impressive line-up of speakers — namely, Luc Perramond, the Chairman and CEO of Damas; Tania Heikal, GIA certified diamond grader and jewellery expert; and Fabio D’Amico, HRD Antwerp’s Head of Education — the two-hour session highlighted the growing popularity of ethically made lab-grown diamonds.

Moderated by Diala Makki — the acclaimed broadcaster and media

personality — the discussion touched on the rising demand for sustainable jewellery making, and the changing preferences of a new generation of shoppers and luxury lovers.

Over the course of the event, an enchanting range of lab-grown diamond collection Gaia was showcased. In 2021, Damas made history as the first jewellery house in the region to include labgrown diamonds within its collections. Calypso

It is the story of a lost love seen from the eyes of those who remain. A young woman, beautiful and slender, finds herself on the beach, contemplating the sea that took her man away.

She is desperate because the only thing left is a neverending wall of water standing in front of her.

He is painted in the reflection of every glance and every thought she makes. It seems impossible to live without him.

This love is so excruciating and overwhelmed by the desperation of the loss. The remaining life is measured by the emptiness generated by the loss of love. The sea is black, hard, hopeless.

She stands outside contemplating it, she torments herself, she lets herself go. She knows she’ll never see him again.

She writhes. She reaches out and looks for him. She looks for a solution to a problem that can not be solved: his absence. The sea represents her man and to her it means nothing else than his lack.

She knows that he will not return. And this thought swallows her. She would like to be absorbed by the water, to dissolve into it and to be part of the sea, finally. But she can not.

She is wearing a dress with a veiled black drape. Her hair is as upset as she is, messy and voluminous. Her beauty blends into her pain.

Her makeup is smudged, her face is covered up. His gaze is lost, lifeless. She kneels by the water/sea and cries, tearless.

MCM x PUMA DROP 2 “SHOW UP” IS COMING

This means PUMA and MCM will be bringing the ball both on and off the court – with a release in three dramatic drops. The first, released September 8, was Show Love, featuring a one-of-a-kind MCM edition of the PUMA Slipstream Lo. October 6 sees the second drop, Show Up, with its own version of the renowned PUMA basketball shoe: the Slipstream Lo Retro sneakers come emblazoned with black and white details and are embellished with MCM’s striking Cubic Monogram print for a full visual box out. First released in 1987, the Slipstream series has made its way through crucial moments of sneaker history, with this most recent incarnation being showcased by Mikey Williams, a strong and compact guard and offensive-minded player who knows a thing or two about basketball.

JW Anderson is behind some of the biggest It-bags of today and his latest Bumper bag is already a winner with scenesters, from Dua Lipa to Emily Ratajkowski.

The Bumper family comprises of the Bumper and the Bumper Moon bags. The styles – which evoke bright buoyant balloons and cushioning travel pillows – are made inside-out and then turned inwards with their oversized padding exposed. The result is an accessories collection that brings a signature twist to classic pieces, emphasising extreme and enlarged proportions.

The new IT bags are imagined in many different colourways and textures where clashing colours interact, such as toffee and lilac, bubble-gum pink and blue, post-box red and black. Additional design details include outer gold logo embossing, golden hardware on the zip and shoulder strap, an inner slip pocket and a super soft nappa lamb leather lining, with a patina that evolves over time.

FALL’S MOST-WANTED DENIM COLLAB

Two brands with a shared spirit of vibrant individuality –rebel-at-heart HUGO and Italian premium denim specialist Replay – come together this Fall to launch a co-created capsule collection dedicated to self-expression.

Bringing together a mix of classic and trend-driven denim styles with easy-wear jersey pieces, HUGO | Replay presents clean and simple silhouettes designed to be interpreted by the wearer to reflect their personal style.

Launched as part of the Fall/Winter 2022 season as HUGO strengthens its denim offer throughout its collections, each HUGO | Replay style features a signature red label that brings together the logos of both brands. The capsule is developed in certified organic cotton fabrics throughout.

For him, a classic denim jacket and straight-fit jeans, in a light, medium, or dark wash, are joined by an overshirt and matching jeans that offer a tailoring-meets-workwear aesthetic. Four crew-neck tees deliver four different spins on the bold HUGO | Replay logo, while a garment-dyed indigo tee and matching hoodie complete the line-up.

For her, boy-fit jeans in three washes and a choice of relaxed, drop-shoulder tees are joined by a trend-driven cropped jacket with raw edges and matching balloon-fit jeans, in a nod to the fashion acumen that runs through the collection.

TikTok creators Oluwanifewa Agunbiade (@Itsjustnifee), Louis Powell (@youngmanpowell) and Isla Loba (@isla) star in a playful social-first campaign, shot in London, to mark the launch. Each individual shows how they incorporate the HUGO | Replay collection into their day, putting together a series of different outfits by adding their own accessories, styling pieces, and – of course – attitude.

TikTok will also offer instant inspo thanks to a branded “Replay Your Day” rewind effect released to mark the launch. Creators will use the effect to create dynamic and immersive content as they switch up the collection from day to night.

As word spreads about the collab, a #HUGOReplay hashtag challenge will give all TikTokers access to the exclusive rewind effect, branded graphics, and audio assets – an invitation to play with filters and transitions to create fresh and fun TikToks that inspire new ways to style denim.

Givenchy Women's Spring Summer 2023 Collection

A transatlantic clash of enduring city wardrobes: for the Givenchy Spring-Summer 2023 collection, Artistic Director Matthew M. Williams proposes a cultural exchange between the cosmopolitan dress codes of France and America, resonated in the influence of Hubert de Givenchy upon both domains of style.

The show is staged in the Jardin des Plantes where botanist explorers have crosspollinated discoveries from around the world since the seventeenth century. Here, a metaphorical graftage unfolds. The urban tastes and uniforms of Givenchy’s France and Williams’ America – cultivated since the mid-century – unify in a reflection of the shared global dress sense of the digital era. Through the timeless gaze of Hubert de Givenchy, whose contributions to American cinema inspired the nation’s perception of everyday elegance, the silhouettes of classic Parisian chic and casual Los Angeles cool consolidate.

In the process, the archival icons of Givenchy are re-energised in dialogue with the archetypal workwear staples of the city wardrobe, re-evaluated through the lens of savoir-faire.

This study of collective dress codes begins with an adaptation and clarification of the Maison’s own genetics. Dresses, skirts and blouses gathered at the centre draw on a storied house technique, while Givenchy’s emblematic black dresses are constructed with integrated asymmetrical stole panels draped from the neckline. Box jackets constructed in tweed and boucle conjure archival skirt suits, re-imagined with Givenchy’s 4G logo. Tailoring is intensified at the shoulder and nipped at the waist, coats structured with zips at the front transform into capes, and classic blazers are imbued with boned corsets.

IN THE MIDDLE OF ADDO NATIONAL PARK

Addo National Park is home to the densest population of elephants on earth, African’s largest land mammal. Guests are able to get up close to, taking in their incredible stature and grace. The 5 000 hectare private concession is located deep in the heart of the Addo Elephant National Park, 70km north-east of the Eastern Cape coastal city of Port Elizabeth, the near est centre with a major airport. With sweeping views, indig enous fauna and the densest population of elephants in the world, Gorah epitomises the safari experience, steeped in history, tradition and opulence.

Deep within the shadows of the dense valley bushveld of the Eastern Cape’s Sundays River region lays the Addo El ephant National Park.

Here, the evenings are punctuated by the strident howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins’ call heralds each new dawn. Safe from relentless persecution in the past, the grey giants of the bush now roam in peace. The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area. Today this fine ly tuned ecosystem is a sanctuary to over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, lion, black rhino, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.

In the vast entryway of the 17th-century villa at 167 Via Giulia, a striking new reflective installation makes an impression on guests and visitors.

The effect is magnetic and almost unnerving. It is a mirror of wonders, something out of Lewis Carroll’s famous and dreamlike novel, that guides you into an eccentric and visually stunning “other” world. Just like Alice’s trip down the rabbit hole, it makes you suddenly believe in the impossible.

The large, mirrored wall surface, 4.5 meters wide by 4 meters high, is broken down into several sections, all of which move under their own power. The structure catalyzes the many angles and perspectives of the space in an interplay of constant reflections, re-situating unexpected fragments of the scene in a kaleidoscopic, shimmering image.

“As in all our projects, we worked with a tailor’s approach, starting from the specifics of the setting to create a piece that could bring out the unique character of a space with such a strong identity. In the large 60-square-meter hall, empty space prevails over solidity. The hand- decorated walls depict a forest of Roman pine trees painted white on a silver leaf base, like a kind of virtual winter garden. We wanted to avoid overabundance and excess. That led to the idea of an installation that is neither authoritarian nor imposing, but rather a modern piece that can find a harmonious balance with its historic surroundings. It was designed and built to create a dialogue with the interior and to orient the gaze in space, rather than capture it,” says Fabio Mazzeo, art director of Fabio Mazzeo Architects.

The installation faces and returns the image of another precious mirror from the Renaissance period: a mutually respectful stylistic coexistence between two works of art created 500 years apart.

Another prominent piece in the room, and part of the changing reflections, is an imposing sculpture table designed by Fabio Mazzeo Architects.

Aesthetic and functional at the same time, the installation is integrated with a monitor that uses mirror screen technology, which enriches the reflective surface with visual suggestions and is used by the team for presentations to clients.

The gold leaf-covered backdrop and back lighting bring out the fractures of the mirror, which is conceived as a semi-dynamic object. The effect is almost one of an inner current, a pulsating underground energy: the same vibrations that animate the team at Fabio Mazzeo Architects. They are a true creative collective where every talent, under the careful and charismatic supervision of Fabio Mazzeo, is free to express themselves. This collective work is what shaped the installation, by involving artists, painters, and artisans who have collaborated with the studio for years, just like in a neo-Renaissance workshop.

Between art, architecture, and design, this is a piece that recounts Fabio Mazzeo Architects’ way of being and designing, inviting us to cross a mirror: on the other side, we can imagine and experience new, exciting visions of beauty.

The battery has a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh and a discharge capacity of 560 kW, to continuously transmit around 760 hp to the wheels. The specific set-up and innovative layout of the battery result in the containment of vehicle height to 1353 mm, without compromising its sporty nature.
