Josiah Hearn
Josiah Hearn is the son of Jeff Hearn and Kiya Amadi. He has many great memories while attending Clarendon High School his senior year. Josiah remembers all the small town traditions he experienced and is happy he went to CHS his last year of high school. He played basketball all four years of high school with that being his main sport. Josiah also ran track, participating in all the relays, and played football his last year of high school. Josiah was in extra curricular activities outside of school such as FCA. In his free time, Josiah enjoyed going to work with his dad, trimming down or removing trees, playing basketball, lifting, and ‘surprisingly’ he is a really good skater. After high school, Josiah plans to play basketball at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and earn a degree in accounting.
Adriana Victoria Araujo, daughter of Sherilyn and Wallace Araujo, has attended CISD since kindergarten. She participated in One Act Play her freshman through senior year, as actor, stage crew, and tech crew. She received All-Star Crew for lights her junior year. She was in the history club and annual staff her junior and senior years of high school, where she spent numerous hours volunteering at the Saints' Roost Museum and working on the yearbook. She was a part of student council her junior year, FCCLA and NHS her senior year, along with being class secretary. Adriana spent several hours being an active member within the community, she participated in highway and lake clean up, assembled snack packs, and volunteered at the food bank. Adriana plans to attend Midwestern State University this upcoming fall to achieve a degree in general business.
Kaleb Blum, son of Dustin and Shelly Blum, attended Clarendon High School for two years. During his time at CHS, Kaleb played mixed doubles in tennis. Before coming to Clarendon, Kaleb played football his sophomore year in Oklahoma. His favorite subjects while attending school in Clarendon included Financial Literacy and Government. While living in Clarendon, Kaleb worked at the Clarendon Outpost, Clarendon Nursing Home, and Pizza Hut. Kaleb plans to move to Amarillo, TX, and attend Amarillo College in the fall. He will pursue an auto mechanics degree.
William Gannon Broussard
William Gannon Broussard, son of Gabe and Kathryn Broussard, was a member of the Clarendon Bronco football team all four years of high school. He was on the varsity team three of those years and held a starting position his last two years on both sides of the ball. Gannon participated in powerlifting with an overall lifting weight of 1100 lbs his senior year. He advanced to the Texas High School Powerlifting Association regional meet his senior year, where he placed eleventh overall. Gannon participated in OAP his sophomore and senior year where his team made it to Bi-Distirct and was the alternate advancing play. He was named the Outstanding Technician his senior year as the stage manager of the play “The Rabbit Hole.” After high school, Gannon plans to go to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he will get his Masters Degree in Business Administration.

lived in Clarendon the past 18 years of her life. Ashley played softball her freshman year. She also participated in FFA as a freshman and sophomore. She volunteered cleaning up Highway 287 as part of her biology class. Ashley enjoyed taking United States History class her junior year. Ashley plans to attend Clarendon College and study nursing. After college she plans to become an LVN and work in the medical field.
Britton Cottrell
Britton Cottrell, son of Zak and Jade Cottrell, was a three time regional qualifier in UIL academics. He qualified in number sense three straight years, accounting his junior year, and math and science his senior year. Britton played baseball all four years of high school and ran cross country his freshman year. He was also involved in many academic activities. He was inducted into the National Honor Society his junior year. During his time in the National Honor Society, Britton worked over eighty community service hours doing everything from yard-work to organizing fundraisers for the senior center. Along with being involved in those activities, he was also an A Honor Roll student all four years of high school. After high school Britton plans on attending Texas Tech University and majoring in mechanical engineering.
Jace
Jace Cottrell, son of Zak and Jade Cottrell, participated in UIL for all four years of high school. He was a regional qualifier in number sense his junior and senior year. He was also a district champion and regional qualifier in accounting his junior year and science his senior year. While attending Clarendon High School, Jace obtained 24 dual credit hours from Clarendon Col-
lege. Jace also participated in NHS his junior and senior years, during this time he had over 50 hours of community service. He was an active participant in the gifted and talented program, helping each year with the CISD GT Showcase. After high school, he plans on attending Texas Tech University and majoring in construction engineering. He then plans on being a construction manager.
Finley Cunningham, daughter of Charles Cunningham, Alton Gaines, and Chad and Chrisy Hommel, played basketball all four years of high school where she received an Offensive MVP award her junior year and an All District First Team award her senior year. Finley received the Amarillo Globe-News athlete of the week award her senior year. She also participated in cross country, golf, and track her freshman and sophomore years where she qualified for area in high jump her sophomore year. Finley was a baseball and football manager her junior and senior year. She volunteered with the High Plains Food Bank and in the local kindergarten classroom. She was a student council member her senior year and obtained a total of 36 dual credit hours her junior and senior years. Finley was nominated for Homecoming Queen her senior year. She plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall where she will major in kinesiology.
Jmaury Keshaun Davis, son of Keisha Butler and grandson of Shawn Walker, played varsity football all four years of high school. He was Defensive MVP his junior year and District Offensive MVP his junior and sophomore year in football. He played varsity basket-
ball all four years of high school and won two state championships his sophomore and junior years. He was named basketball Offensive District MVP his junior year, All-Region his sophomore and junior years, All-State selection his sophomore and junior years. He was Press Pass Sports basketball first team, Amarillo Globe-News Golden Team first team, and State tournament All-Tournament Team his sophomore and junior years. He volunteered packing and distributing the Snack Pak 4 Kids his junior year. After high school, Jmaury will be attending Texas Tech University to play football.
Joshua Deflora
Joshua Deflora, son of April Crenshaw and Jason Deflora, attended Clarendon High School his junior and senior years. Josh’s favorite subjects were science and math. He was awarded an Honor C in Algebra II class for his high class average. Josh volunteered in the CHS office during first period and lunch. He enjoyed helping with school duties. Josh is a regular blood donor at Coffee Memorial Blood Center. During his time in Clarendon, he held down a job at the Clarendon Outpost. Josh plans to go to West Texas A&M University after taking a break from formal education. After graduation, Josh plans to find full time employment.
JaKoby Dunham
JaKoby Dunham, son of Danny McCampbell and Amber Dunham, attended CISD since Head Start. He has been a resident of Donley County for 18 years. JaKoby was a member of the football team his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. He also participated in baseball his freshman and sophomore years, basketball his sophomore year, and golf his senior year. JaKoby was also a member of the
CHS FFA chapter for three years. He participated as a member of the quiz team. His favorite subjects and teachers were US History with Mr. Woodcook, Basic Geometry with Mrs. Wright, and Theater I with Mr. Mac. JaKoby plans on taking a year off from education to work full time. His main goal is to move to Colorado to attend University of Colorado Denver.
Joshua Dunn
Joshua Dunn, son of Josey and Chelsi Shadle, attended Clarendon High School since fifth grade. He played baseball his freshman and sophomore years, football as a freshman, and golf his senior year. He volunteered with the Highway Cleanup Project in his Environmental Science class. Josh also helped deliver meals through the Donley County Senior Citizen Center. His favorite subject in school was geometry, ag power and mechanics, and U.S. History. Throughout his senior year, Josh was enrolled in the CHS work study program and maintained a full time job building fences and barns. After graduation, Josh plans to attend Clarendon College to receive his CDL and a welding certification.

Brenna Ellis, daughter of Guy and Robin Ellis, attended Clarendon CISD since Pre-K. She played basketball her freshman year of high school. Brenna was active in Donley County 4-H all four years serving in various officer positions and volunteering countless hours. She was a member of the Horse Quiz Bowl and Horse Judging team and qualified for state three years in a row. Brenna has volunteered her time at Christ's Kids by delivering lunches during the summertime and helping with Sunday school. She also volunteered at Howardwick Baptist Church vacation bible school

where she led worship services and taught classes. She was a state qualifier her sophomore, junior, and senior year in the Texas High School Rodeo Finals. Brenna plans to attend Clarendon College in the fall majoring in animal science and competing on the Clarendon College Rodeo Team.
Avery English, daughter of Josh English and Jessica English, attended Clarendon ISD since pre-kindergarten. She maintained AB Honor Roll all four years of high school and completed 53 college credit hours through Clarendon Junior College. Her sophomore year she received an Honor C in English II. During her sophomore and junior year, she was a member of the annual staff and helped design the CHS yearbook. Avery was inducted into the National Honor Society during her senior year. She participated in the Snack Pak 4 Kids program and volunteered at the local food bank throughout high school. She has been accepted into WTAMU and plans to major in nursing. After college, Avery plans to attend the Texas Midwifery School to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Nathan Estlack, son of Russell and Scarlet Estlack, is an Eagle Scout. He played trumpet in the Bronco Band all four years of high school, advancing to Area Marching Contest his sophomore year. Active in Donley County 4-H Archery, Nathan won the state gold medal in NASP his freshman year and silver medals as a sophomore and junior. He is a Master Breeder of Black Cochin Bantam chickens. Nathan joined the Clarendon Lions Club, receiving the Outstanding New Member Award in 2022. He is a Mason with Clarendon Lodge #700. Nathan has been a lifeguard
for two years and was named senior lifeguard in 2022. He volunteered with the Donley County Senior Citizens and the Texas Ramp Project. Nathan regularly donates blood to Coffee Memorial Blood Center. His academic success earned him memberships with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success. On May 5, Nathan graduated from Clarendon College with an Associate of Arts degree. He will attend West Texas A&M University and major in biology.
Thomas Fanelli-Burnett, grandson of David and Laurie Fanelli, attended Clarendon ISD on and off since Head Start. He participated in One Act Play for four years and received All-Star Cast Awards his sophomore and senior years. He was a member of the marching band percussion section his freshman and sophomore years. He performed in the musical Mama Mia during his short time at Tascosa High School. He was also on the Pampa Swim Team while at Pampa High School his junior year. He enjoyed English, reading Shakespeare and writing endless essays. He expressed himself by creating and freelancing art. He also enjoyed writing poetry and stories. He received A and B Honor Roll all four years of high school. Thomas plans to attend West Texas A&M University in January 2024 majoring in Theatre Education.
Baylee Gabel, daughter of John and Brandi Moffett and Tim Gabel, attended Clarendon High School her senior year. At Clarendon High School, she participated in softball, basketball, and track. She was named the District Defensive MVP for the 2022-2023 basketball season. She was a member of the Nationals Honors Society and Fel-
lowship of Christian Athletes. She volunteered at the Donley County Senior Citizens Center and helped the Donley County Courthouse Lighting Committee hang Christmas lights. Her favorite subjects in school were Pre-Calculus and Algebra I and II. She has been accepted into Texas Tech University and will be attending class starting in the fall. She currently plans on obtaining a business management degree and becoming an entrepreneur.
Laney Gates
Laney Gates, daughter of Randal and Julie Gates, attended Clarendon High School for four years while participating in multiple activities. She participated in FFA all four years including Radio Broadcasting, Chapter Quiz, Creed Speaking, Horse Judging, all while holding various leadership positions. Laney was the Greenbelt FFA Vice President as well as an Area 1 Officer her senior year. She started showing steers in junior high and continued throughout her senior year. Laney attended all of the major stock shows in Texas. She competed in basketball, softball, and cross country for three years. She was the Lions Club Sweetheart her senior year. Laney graduated from Clarendon College May 5 with an associate's degree. Laney signed with WTAMU to judge horses at the collegiate level. She will be attending WTAMU in pursuit of an animal science degree with an emphasis on pre-veterinary medicine.
Michael Alexander Gay is the son of Michael Gay and Mandi Gay. He attended Clarendon High School his freshman, junior, and senior year and Hedley HS his sophomore year. Alex has lived in Donley County for a total of nine years. His favorite subjects were ag mechan-
ics and math while in high school. He played basketball his freshman year at Clarendon ISD and his sophomore year at Hedley. He was a member of the Bronco Baseball team his freshman and sophomore year. Alex also played 6-man football while attending Hedley. While attending Hedley ISD, Alex showed pigs at the Donley County and San Angelo Stock Shows. Alex volunteered by delivering Meals on Wheels through the Donley County Senior Citizens Center. After high school, he plans on attending Texas State Technical College where he will pursue an HVAC certification.
Emberly Gonzalez is the daughter of Javier and Donna Gonzalez. She has lived in Clarendon, Texas, all of her life and attended Clarendon CISD since Head Start. She played basketball her freshman and sophomore years. Emberly participated in 4-H for three years and FFA for one year. She showed goats at the Donley County Stock Show and placed fifth. As a senior, she volunteered to read to the fourth grade class. She also volunteered to make puppets with the first grade class. Throughout Emberly’s high school career, she has volunteered to help the school out in any way she could. She got accepted into Clarendon College and Amarillo College and her plans are to attend Amarillo College to major in nursing.

Church with the young children on Wednesday nights. Emily has been accepted into Clarendon College, Amarillo College, and the University of North Texas. Emily plans to attend Clarendon College to obtain her Associate's Degree. After that she will transfer to either West Texas A&M or University of North Texas to receive a Master's Degree in business and a teaching certification. She plans to get her real estate license in the summer and work in Amarillo, Texas.
Heavyn Jayde Gribble, daughter of Judge Smith and Meghan Gribble, has attended all four years at Clarendon High School. She was a class officer her junior year, in Student Council her senior year, and a member of National Honor Society her junior and senior year. She played basketball her freshman, sophomore, and junior years and received an Academic All-District award her junior year. Jayde played softball her sophomore and junior year and was a football manager her junior and senior years. Jayde advanced to State 4-H in Horse Quiz Bowl her freshman and sophomore years. She participated in 4-H Horse Judging and the Donley County Stock Show her freshman year. Jayde was involved in the community with several organizations throughout her high school career: AWANAS, Mustard Seed Ministry, Hillside Kids’ Program, VBS, FCA, Snack Packs 4 Kids, and Buckner Family Home. She plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall.

Tyler and his teammates have secured a playoff spot this year and look forward to a long playoff run. He advanced to regionals in cross country and track while attending Hedley High School. Tyler participated in stock shows all four years of high school and won Grand Champion Steer at Donley County Stock Show twice. Tyler participated in NHS his sophomore through senior years and was an active member of the FCA. He was named Clarendon Chamber of Commerce Young Man of the Year. He plans on attending Texas State Technical College in the fall of 2023 where he will pursue an associate's degree in Wind Energy Technology.
McKaden Lax
McKaden Lax is the son of Jared Lax and Savannah Kelly and grandson of Danny and Debra Hill. He started attending CISD his freshman year. He participated in basketball his junior year. His favorite subjects were U.S. History and Anatomy. He enjoyed learning about the human body. U.S. History really opened his eyes about the future. For multiple six weeks, McKaden was on the A&B Honor Roll. After graduation, McKaden will find a job and save money for a year. McKaden also plans to move to North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina. He will pursue a degree in psychology and music theory.

Davin Mays, son of Aron and Amanda Mays, attended all four years at Clarendon High School. During those years, he participated in band, One Act Play, UIL, powerlifting, GT, track, FFA, and cross country. He advanced to state in Feature Writing for UIL and was
awarded All-Star Cast at district and bi-district for One Act Play. Davin was also the vice president of the history club for two years. Davin participated in highway cleanup and helped at the Saints Roost Museum through the history club. His favorite subjects included history, theater, and band. After graduation, Davin plans on joining the United States Marine Corps.
Tandy Blacksher McAnear
Tandy Blacksher McAnear, daughter of Kevin and Stormy McAnear, played softball all four years of high school and helped her team win district her senior year for the first time in thirteen years. She participated in FFA, placing first in FFA Quiz and qualifying for regional competition. Tandy was also nominated for Homecoming Queen her senior year. Tandy participated in student council her senior year where she volunteered time at the concession stand and participated in Angel Tree. Tandy was enrolled in dual credit classes her junior and senior year where she earned a total of 38 credit hours. She was accepted into Clarendon College where she will major in biology. Tandy will go on to the Amarillo College Dental Hygiene Program.
Makenna Shadle
Makenna Shadle, daughter of Che and Linde Shadle, played basketball all four years of high school and was selected to the AllDistrict team her junior and senior year, Academic All-State her senior years, and was the recipient of the Lady Bronco Fighting Heart Award. She also competed in track and cross country. Makenna was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Annual Staff, Gifted and Talented program, and Student Council where she was the vice president her senior year. She was a
UIL academic regional qualifier in headline writing. Makenna was on the A Honor Roll throughout high school and was awarded an Honor C in College Algebra. Her senior year, Makenna was selected as the Homecoming Queen, Prom Queen, and Clarendon Chamber of Commerce Young Woman of the Year. Makenna has completed 36 dual credit hours with Clarendon College. In the fall, she plans to attend Texas Tech University and pursue a major in the medical field.
Wilson Ward, son of Shane and Brooke Ward, attended Clarendon CISD for a little over a year. He was a member of the varsity baseball team for two seasons. The team advanced to the regional semi finals last year and is hoping for a big run this year. He played varsity football his senior year and was named All-District Kicker. While attending Amarillo High School, Wilson was an active member of the football and baseball teams. He was an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) during high school. He volunteered putting together Snack Pak 4 Kids during his senior year. Wilson plans to attend Clarendon College in the fall majoring in welding and plans on building fences.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Aleyah enjoyed studying anatomy and algebra while in high school. Aleyah also assisted Mrs. Ratten, in the elementary office her senior year. She enjoyed doing daily tasks that helped the elementary teachers and students. Aleyah took dual credit courses to help her prepare for a major in social work. Aleyah plans to attend WTAMU in Canyon, Texas, to major in social work. She is also interested in pursuing a degree in real estate.
Aliyah Grace Weatherton
Aliyah Grace Weatherton, daughter of Glenn and Mary Ann Weatherton, attended Clarendon ISD since kindergarten. She ran cross country for four years and qualified for regionals each year. During Aliyah’s freshman and junior years, she was a cheerleader. One of her greatest memories of cheer was competing in the UIL cheer competition and placing 23rd out of 50 squads. Aliyah ran track and managed the softball team for three years. During her senior year, she assisted Mrs. Williams, Clarendon ISD elementary teacher, with one-on-one instruction in the second grade classroom. All throughout high school, Aliyah participated in the Fellowship of Christan Athletes program. Aliyah volunteered time by helping with High Plains Food Bank and packing Snack Packs 4 Kids. She took dual credit classes two years and obtained a total of 30 college credit hours. She has been accepted to WTAMU. Aliyah plans to major in social work.
Addison Willoughby
Addison Willoughby is the daughter of Tim Willoughby and Breana Willoughby and Amanda Williams. She attended Clarendon High School for four years while participating in multiple activities.
For three years, she participated in One Act Play where she held various roles, including stage manager and light crew. She has been in the CHS History Club since her junior year and was elected secretary both years. She was a regional academic qualifier in UIL Social Studies her senior year. Addison has been an active member of the annual staff for the past two years. During her senior year, she was inducted into the National Honor Society and elected to the CHS Student Council. She has taken dual credit classes at Clarendon College since her junior year of high school. She will be attending Texas Tech University in the fall and plans to major in psychology.
Catherine Word, Catherine Word, daughter of William Word and Tanya Word, has attended all four years at Clarendon High School. She is valedictorian of the 2023 graduating class, class president, and CHS Student Council president. A National Merit Commended Scholar, Catherine also participated in varsity tennis, annual staff, National Honor Society, and accumulated 60 dual credit hours at Clarendon College. She advanced to the UIL Regional Academic and Speech contest three years in a row in five different events and qualified for State in Ready Writing her senior year. Catherine helped found Clarendon High School’s history club — the Babble-On Historical Society — and served as its president for two years. She has received several Honor-C awards and amassed over 250 hours of community service throughout high school. Catherine plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin as a biomedical engineering major. Her hope is to attend medical school and volunteer for Doctors Without Borders.

Cody has been involved in sports all four years of high school. Cody played football, basketball, and ran cross country. Cody was very involved on the school’s UIL team, advancing to regionals three years in a row. Cody plans on attending WT in the fall and pursuing his career in coaching.
Joshua Booth is the son of Janita Booth. He has competed in basketball, football, track, and cross country all four years of high school. He was inducted into the NHS as a sophomore and is now the president of the NHS. Joshua plans to attend college to achieve a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He would like to thank everyone who has supported him through his high school career.
Lane Hinton is the son of James and Samantha Hinton. Lane has played basketball all four years of high school. Lane was also a part of the Hedley One Act Play for the last two years and UIL the last three. Lane was very involved in stock shows throughout all of his school days. After high school, Lane plans to attend Clarendon College and get his degree in Pipeline Welding.
Savannah Trent is the daughter of Johnny Trent. She has been very active in the school being involved in every extracurricular offered. Savannah played basketball all four years of high school and joined a few other sports here and there. She was on the cheer team for three years. Savannah is a member of the NHS and was a part of the One Act Play for three years. Savannah joined the school’s yearbook class and has spent most of senior year taking pictures at all sorts of events. After graduation, Savannah plans to attend Clarendon College to get her license in cosmetology and, later on, own her own salon.
Fayde Turner is the son of Troy and Rochelle Turner and the grandson of Kathy Turner and Cindy Booth. Fayde has participated in three years of showing goats and one year of golf. He is a member of the 4-H club where he excels in archery. His interests include cooking, mowing lawns, and supporting the Owls by going to ballgames. Fayde is wanting to go to a trade school to learn to be a mechanic.
Iziak Weatherread is the son of the late William Weatherread and Cali Weatherread. He has competed in basketball, football, track, and cross country all four years of high school. Iziak is planning to attend Clarendon College next fall to complete a degree in Welding and weld for the oil rig following in the footsteps of his father.
