Nothing evokes the joy and magic of the Christmas season quite like the celestial voices of these extraordinary Austrian youngsters. In this special holiday concert, the Vienna Boys Choir presents a musical evening of Christmas spirit, performing everything from Gregorian chant and traditional Christmas carols to popular holiday favorites and songs from around the world. They have charmed audiences worldwide with their rapturous harmonies, purity of tone, and delightful repertoire—an enchanting evening for the entire family. DEC 6 — Saturday at 8:00 p.m. The Cleveland Orchestra Marek Janowski, conductor BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 1 HINDEMITH S ymphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 2 Originally conceived as a ballet, Symphonic Metamorphosis was withdrawn from the project by Hindemith when he learned that the costumes were to be designed by Salvador Dali, whose work he detested. Fortunately, Hindemith went on to compose this imaginative, colorful, and dramatic orchestral showpiece. Here, the work is paired with Beethoven’s first two symphonies. O ffered as part of the Under 18s Free program, supported by the Maltz Family Foundation.
