SHEFFIELD STEAM & VINTAGE RALLY Sheffield Steam & Vintage Club Limited hold their annual Steam & Vintage Rally on fields at Rackford Road, North Anston, near Sheffield, S25 4DF usually on the last weekend in June. This next one will be held on the weekend of 25th June and 26th June 2016. The Show attracts a good deal of interest from the local community as well as enthusiasts. For those unfamiliar with what can be seen at such a show, the following would normally be present; Steam powered road rollers

Visit from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter (Sunday only – subject to call-out) Come and see ‘Noddy’s car’ – helping to raise funds for YAA. We are always keen to encourage people to propose other exhibits that would be of interest, and this does not necessarily or exclusively have to relate to ‘steam’. Our aim is to promote the public interest in preservation and operation of steam and vintage vehicles, machinery and tools, and other historical items. Increasing the volume and variety of trade and display stands adds further diversity and provides interest for a wider spectrum of visitors. By display stands, we refer to items that are not being sold; ie. where something is provided for viewing only; or where a product, service or skill is demonstrated; or another club, society, public service or charity is promoted.

How to beat Str8ts – Like Sudoku, no single number can repeat in any row or column. But... rows and columns are divided by black squares into compartments. These need to be filled in with numbers that complete a ‘straight’. A straight is a set of numbers with no gaps but can be in any order, eg [4,2,3,5]. Clues in black cells remove that number as an option in that row and column, and are not part of any straight. Glance at the solution to see how ‘straights’ are formed.
