COMMUNITY MATTERS

In Barcelona, one bar is ensuring that its waste is being put to good use and it aims for its neighbours to do the same

The last word goes to Paradiso in Barcelona and its recently launched Zero Waste Lab. Keeping its commitment to recycling close to home, the plan is a closed-loop system where the bar transforms its own waste into a range of bottle openers, plates and coasters, straw holders and ashtrays, like the one pictured here. Community-minded Paradiso’s ultimate aim is to invite local venues to drop off their waste, for it to be given a new lease of life too. paradiso.cat/en/sustainability caffeinemag.com
