Undergraduate Programs If you pursue a degree in American Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, or Interdepartmental Studies, you will explore the interrelations among academic disciplines in the arts, history, political science, sociology, English, earth science, communications, computer science, social work, psychology, mathematics, science, and business.--In consultation with advisors, you will craft a plan of study that tailors your coursework to your interests and professional goals. Past students have delved into such topics as American Studies, local history, gender systems as products of power structures, the African diaspora, environmental policy, and Latin American film. Some students have become so intrigued by their area of study that they pursue advanced research and/or a study abroad to further expand their knowledge.
