FOR MOST STUDENTS, LIVING ON CAMPUS IS A TIME OF MEETING NEW CHALLENGES AND FINDING A NEW SENSE OF INDEPENDENCE. BY BECOMING PART OF THIS OPEN AND WELCOMING COMMUNITY, STUDENTS ARE REWARDED WITH NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND EXPERIENCES THAT WILL STAY WITH THEM FOR YEARS TO COME. LIVING ON CAMPUS GIVES STUDENTS AN UNDERSTANDING OF DIVERSE CULTURES, ENHANCES THEIR CLASSROOM LEARNING, AND HELPS THEM MAKE LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS. IN 2012-2013, A BRAND NEW APARTMENT-STYLE BUILDING, CENTENNIAL HALL, OPENED FOR UPPER-CLASS STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, THE COLLEGE HAS INVESTED MORE THAN $5 MILLION IN RENOVATIONS TO THE OTHER RESIDENCE HALLS, INSTALLING CARD ACCESS SYSTEMS, EXTENSIVE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, AND NEW FURNITURE. LIVING ON CAMPUS GIVES STUDENTS QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO MANY OF THE MAJOR CAMPUS BUILDINGS, INCLUDING CLASSROOMS AND THE DINING HALL, WHICH ARE RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR DOOR. NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, STORES AND CAFES ARE ALSO JUST STEPS AWAY.

CENTENNIAL HALL UPPERCLASSMAN HOUSING Centennial Hall is a brand new eco-friendly building with two- or fourperson apartments. Each apartment has all single bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, lounge spaces, a bike room, and an on-site convenience store and cafÊ. Centennial Hall residents are not required to be on one of the College’s meal plans.

ALUMNI HALL UPPERCLASSMAN HOUSING Alumni Hall is a highly popular suite-style building in the center of campus. Each six-person suite has double bedrooms, a shared bath and living room. The building went through a complete rehabilitation in Summer 2011 including new flooring, windows, lighting and all new heating and cooling systems.

HISTORIC HOMES UPPERCLASSMAN HOUSING Perhaps the most distinctive aspect of the Saint Rose campus is our more than 40 unique historic homes. Many have been updated in the past two years with modern fixtures and safety systems while maintaining

DECLINING BALANCE DOLLARS (DBDS): You choose how many additional dollars you want to have for the semester. DBDS supplement your weekly meal allowance and can be used at the Camelot Room, our cafes in Brubacher Hall and the Thelma P. Lally School of Education, and at the convenience store and Burger Studio in Centennial Hall.
SAFETY & SECURITY To ensure a safe and secure environment: Blue light phones are located throughout campus and immediately connect to security in the event of an emergency or to request a campus escort. The College’s emergency notification system distributes critical information to campus email accounts, on-campus phones, and personal cell phones.
Residence halls are accessible only by card access to residents of that building. Residence halls and apartments are equipped with sprinkler systems, fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors that all instantly connect to security.
SECURITY: Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
RESIDENCE LIFE S TA F F The residence life staff is dedicated to developing each resident's abilities and creating a warm, friendly environment. Resident Assistants (RAs) are graduate and undergraduate students, responsible for fostering an atmosphere of academic, social and personal growth in the residence halls. They are supervised by full-time, administrative professionals who live in the residence halls. RAs are essential to creating the personal family feel of the “Saint Rose community� by coordinating programs that help students meet and bond with the people they live with. Each RA is always there to answer questions about classes, social and cultural activities.
