With Much Gratitude from the Development Director Dear Friends: We did it!! Through your generosity and tremendous support, we achieved our Annual Fund Goal! Thank you! Some of this year’s highlights include: ❖
More than half a million dollars contributed to the Annual Fund, Scholarship, Endowment, and Capital gifts between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019
❖
Recipient of the Rothberg Catalyst Initiative of $50,000
❖
$130,000+ generated at the Spring Gala and Auction at the New Haven Country Club—an alltime high in recent years
❖
Nearly $10,000 awarded in grant money to expand biotechnology in our STEAM curriculum
❖
$2,500 grand winner in the Carton2Garden Contest
My deepest gratitude to all co-chairs, room parents, and volunteers who dedicated countless of hours to assure the success of the numerous events held on and off campus, including the Spring Gala and Auction, Grandparents’ or Special Friends’ Day, Book Fair, Mary Poppins, and the many events sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) that once again brought smiles to students and parents alike. And many thanks to all of you for supporting The Country School through your generous monetary donations, gifts in kind contributions, and time on campus. We would not be where we are today without your unending support. With gratitude,
! Nicole Cretella Burke Director of Development

2018-2019 ANNUAL PARTICIPATION Thank you, thank to all our donors for a successful year in fundraising and helping us to meet our Annual Fund Goal! During the 2018-2019 school year, we received 645 gifts from about 400 donors that totaled $364,759 in support of the Annual Fund, scholarship, endowment, and Class of 2019 Gift. Gifts were generated from direct donations, the Spring Gala, events, and the Athletic Field Banner Sponsorships. In addition, donations to the Capital Campaign for the safety and parking lot project and Buy-A-Brick initiative for the flagpole brick walkway brought in another $108,375 this school year. Of the gifts received for the Annual Fund, scholarship, endowment, 8th Grade gift and Capital Campaign, two thirds were donated by current parents and trustees. Foundations contributed 9% of the total, parents of alumni 6%, grandparents and former trustees 5% each, and the remainder from alumni, businesses, faculty, staff, and friends.

GIFTS IN KIND Through the course of the year, The Country School receives many generous donations of services and goods that enrich the educational experience of our students, improve the campus, and contribute to our auctions and fundraisers. Although not monetary, these gifts ultimately impact the bottom line since they represent costs that we do not have to incur, allowing funds to be used elsewhere. Thank you to the individuals and businesses that provided these types of donations. A/V Davey Juan Acevedo P '19 Alissa and John Amara P '28, '29 Anonymous
The Spring Gala, held at the New Haven Country Club, inspired plenty of competitive bidding that began with the kick off of the online silent auction in early April and culminated with the live auction at the event. Record tickets sales and income for the Annual Fund were highlights of the evening.

HERITAGE SOCIETY For more than a decade, the Heritage Society has existed for individuals and families close to The Country School to be able to leave a legacy to support our school forever. Creating planned deferred gifts is a tax-sensible way for people to take care of themselves and then take care of our school.
