Teresa Menadier, MD,

Gastroenterologists of Ocean County

Doctor Teresa Menadier recently joined Gastroenterologists of Ocean County after completing her Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Virginia. She is a graduate of Tufts University. She obtained her medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School in 2012 where she was elected President of the NJMS chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.

Dr. Menadier went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Sponsored by the ANMS Clinical training program in GI Motility and Neurogastroenterology in October 2017, Dr. Menadier received specialized training in high resolution esophageal and anorectal manometry and pH/impedance interpretation under the supervision of Dr. Henry P. Parkman at Temple University. Her clinical interests include esophageal and anorectal motility disorders, as well as liver diseases. Amy is a nuclear medicine and PET/CT technologist who began her career 12 years ago. She has earned her BS in Allied Health Technologies from UMDNJ, now known as Rutgers, and is licensed in both nuclear medicine and CT. Before joining Toms River X-Ray, she was the lead nuclear medicine technologist at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus and worked as a technologist at Community Medical Center. Amy currently performs among the highest volume of Alzheimer’s disease PET/CT studies in the nation. She has always had a passion for helping others, making a career involving patients the perfect fit for her. Born and raised in Toms River, Amy currently resides in Bayville with her husband and two dogs. Patricia L. Morello lived in Manhattan with her father and two siblings before moving to New Jersey. 3/4 cup olive oil 1 large eggplant (about 2 lbs) cut into bite size pieces 6 medium zucchini (about 2 lbs) cut into bit size pieces 1/2lb mushrooms, thinly sliced 1 1/2 cups onion, chopped 1 cup celery, sliced 1 garlic clove minced 1/2 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup capers, drained 2 T sugar 3 large tomatoes, cut into bite size chunks 4 1/2 oz pimento stuffed olives, drain & cut in half In a large saucepan over high heat, cook eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, celery and garlic in the oil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the vinegar, capers, sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until vegetables are fork tender. Stir in tomatoes and olives and bring to a boil over high heat. Spoon mixture into a bowl, cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or until well chilled.

Automne Bennett is co-founder of Princess Inc., Atlantic City’s signature mentoring and community service program, which has mentored over 100 girls since 2011. Princess Inc. cultivates young ladies to educate their minds, identify their talents, bond with like-minded girls and pursue their life’s purpose with vigor. She has focused on community service programs, such as Pack A Purse, which requests donations of new or gently used purses, which are then packed with toiletries and given to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission; Thanksgiving to Go, which provides meals for the less fortunate; and cosponsored women’s coat drives for those in need. It is not only her mission, but her vocation, to teach, mentor and lead the young ladies of this community who may not otherwise have such resources.

CAROLYN W. GREENIDGE - EDUCATION

Carolyn Greenidge was the proverbial “go to” person for information about the school system. Her knowledge and concern for children, parents and teachers was unparalleled. An extraordinary classroom teacher, she brought her personal, caring style into the administrative position as Supervisor of Special Education for the Atlantic City School District for 25 years. Her influence was immense! A true force to be reckoned with, she devoted herself to improving education for all, but especially for students with special needs. While working full time in education, she and her husband built the Greenidge Funeral Home into a successful, well managed enterprise. After 50+ years, Carolyn retired from Atlantic City Board of Education. However, she continues to devote her services to students, teachers and parents. Her selfless spirit and generosity to many charitable causes are well known in the community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the John Brooks Recovery Center, teaches Sunday School, and is a member of the NJ State Funeral Director’s and the West Jersey Funeral Associations.

Carolyn E. Rott - Volunteerism

Carolyn Rott has been a mentor to many colleagues, students and athletes during her tenure as a teacher and coach. Throughout her time as the adviser for the Girls Athletic Association, Mrs. Rott gave back to the community by raising thousands of dollars for charity, disaster relief and scholarships. While working on the campus of the high school, she suffered a brutal attack by a violent sexual offender. Through her recovery, she sought ways to use such a traumatic experience to help others. Carolyn Rott became an advocate for women, victims of violent crimes and domestic abuse. She has worked as a volunteer at Avanzar, formerly known as the Atlantic County Women’s Center, and has shared her story as a source of inspiration and strength as a keynote speaker at both the Atlantic County and Ocean County prosecutor’s offices.

Dorrie Papademetriou - Arts & Entertainment

Dorrie Papedemetriou has always been passionate about 2 things: art and social change. While raising her children, she wrote and illustrated four children’s books and began working in community arts programs. She has also dedicated her time to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City; the after-school students in Pleasantville; residents in senior and assisted living centers; stroke and brain injury patients at Bacharach Rehab; and the behavioral health center at AtlantiCare. While volunteering her time at Adelaide’s Place, a drop-in center for homeless women, Mrs. Papedemetriou began to work with these women to create their own pottery. Realizing that the women took great pride in their finished products, she worked countless hours to open a small studio nearby and founded MudGirls Studios. The MudGirls Studios’ philosophy is “All equal and working together for freedom and betterment of all”. The work of the MudGirls can be seen at the campus of Stockton University in Atlantic City.

While on vacation in 1996, Henrietta Shelton learned about “Inkwell”, the historic beach used by people of color on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. During her visit, she enjoyed the beach, attended events, and socialized. She began to think about her hometown beach on Missouri Avenue in Atlantic City known as “Chicken Bone Beach”, which up until 1964 was also a segregated beach. Having remembered the good times and fellowship she enjoyed as a child, led her to develop a proposal to the City Council for the enactment of an official ordinance declaring Missouri Avenue Beach a historical landmark. The resolution was created in 1997. Shelton created a

nonprofit organization sponsoring the annual Atlantic City Free Summer Jazz Series on the Boardwalk featuring world renowned artists as well as local and regional performers. The annual series has drawn thousands of people. She also created a year-round Jazz Concert Series and developed the Chicken Bone Beach Youth Jazz Band annual summer camp.

For over 11 years, Tamu Lane has been an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Having been a victim herself, she has provided counseling and therapy for victims/survivors. Ms. Lane is a dynamic trainer and speaker who can reach victims and help them to open their minds to the healing work that is offered to them. She also leads the Dismantling Racism Initiative, which focuses on working to eliminate discrimination by becoming change agents in the workplace and community.

Ruth Raphel - Business

Ruth Raphel, along with with her husband Murray, worked tirelessly to develop Gordon’s Alley, an urban pedestrian mall made up of 35 mixed-retail shops, offices and restaurants. Ruth was a crucial part of the business, taking important leadership roles in its management and operations. Her passion for business and its success were always on her mind. After selling the business, Mrs. Raphel worked with her husband and son in a successful marketing and publishing business. Ruth Raphel was one of the most prominent women in business for many years and always championed Atlantic City.

Tracey Lynn Triniwell is the administrative director of Women’s and Children’s Service Line at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. An Atlantic City native, Tracey is an experienced accounting professional that holds both a Bachelors of Business Administration, from Howard University and Masters of Accounting, from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. At AtlantiCare, Tracey chairs the African American Employee Resource Group, LEGACY (Leaders Empowering AtlantiCare Community and You) and was awarded AtlantiCare’s 2014 Diversity award & 2019 Diversity Champion leader award for her contributions and dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion within the community and AtlantiCare. The group engages in activities to support an inclusive workplace for our staff and also to create community partnerships in support of our vision of building healthy communities together. Tracey is also a member of AtlantiCare’s Young Professionals Steering Committee; a group that provides a fun and meaningful way to get involved and make a difference in our local community through social, educational, volunteer, and giving opportunities. A 2015 Lead Act (Lead Atlantic City Tomorrow) fellow, Tracey works to strengthen, solidify, and improve the City of Atlantic City’s civic and community infrastructure. In Atlantic City, Tracey serves on the executive board of the Boys & Girls Club as the program chair and steering committee member for the Atlantic City High School Basketball Invitational, Battle by the Bay. She also serves as treasurer for Ocean Community Economic Action Now (O.C.E.A.N.) Inc. and is board member for the Brayces Smile for a Lifetime Foundation. Tracey is also a member of three nationally distinguished African American service organizations: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Kappa Omega Chapter, Atlantic City (NJ) Chapter, The Links Inc., and the Atlantic City Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. In 2017, Tracey was named Atlantic City Weekly’s 2017 Top 40 under 40 in recognition for exceptional volunteerism and community service to the Atlantic City community.
