Conquering one’s self. Conquering others. Conquering with a purpose. Fear will stay immortal if one refuses to face it. Fear comes in different forms; it may be the fear of failure, the fear of how others perceive of us, or the fear of not being able to contribute something meaningful. Because of fear were we desperate to measure up and be attentive to the society around us for we might fall and break the good impression we once left to society. However, fear is not your enemy, not your competition, and not your oppressor. It is yourself. Then again, battling yourself is a hard fight, and that is why we need a BigMan to support us. In her last speech in the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Pageant after she takes home the universal crown, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray spoke about her journey towards reaching her dream in becoming the year’s phenomenal and influential individual by overcoming herself, by surmounting others, and by conquering with a purpose. To make her story more motivational, she also mentioned about how her faith to the Lord made her the person who she is today.
