Yes, gingham is a classic print for linens and kitchen towels, but this summer season it is also the print for cute tops, flirty skirts and sling back flats. Large checks or small checks the print screams light and carefree.

Ruffles are definitely having their moment on the runway and in stores. They are being placed across garments, at an angle as well as vertically; they are on hemlines and necklines and edging sleeves. Some are voluminous and some delicate but all are super trendy.
Style: Off-the-Shoulder
There is no indication that the off-theshoulder trend that took the fashion world by storm last year is going away. So, grab that strapless bra and find the style of top or dress that works for you – A-line, fitted or one with spaghetti straps.
Material: Poplin
As the temperature creeps up so does our need to lighten up our fabrics. Pack away the wool and the stuffy polyester and pull out the poplin. Think shirt dresses, oversized buttondowns, off-the-shoulder tops, and add on midi-skirts or a super trendy palazzo pant.

As if yoga teacher and Inner Glow Yoga and Cape Cod Yoga School owner Michelle Itzkowitz didn’t have enough going on, this past year she decided to launch her own line of lifestyle clothing. Here she tells us more about the inspiration behind Sundara.

Tell us a little bit about your background? Yoga? Your connection to Cape Cod? I am originally from Framingham and was a school teacher as well as a yoga teacher. I was offered a teaching position on Cape and I jumped at it to move here. I had spent summers in different Cape communities and knew someday I would end up here. I was introduced to yoga and the yogic lifestyle when I was in college, back in the

Our devotion to source locally, ethically, and organically, is the inspiration for Sundara. Why was it important to you to use eco-friendly fabric, and manufacture the line on Cape Cod? Eco-friendly fabric is really the way to go. It is becoming the present and the future of fashion. It is a mindful way to be kind to the environment and it also feels really good. Watching the process from simple drawings to the finished product was so amazing to watch. Manufacturing literally in my back yard is hugely important to me. I personally know the designer, the amazing Aiste of Devinto Designs. She was so easy to work with and she really broke the design process down for me. It was super cool to watch my novice drawings transform to a finished product! We really miss out on this when we buy from companies that aren’t close by. What's next for the brand? More colors and styles! Also, men’s t-shirts and basics. We would like to offer the community what it wants, and are getting feedback that people are really starting to appreciate where their clothing is made and what it is made of. How would you describe Cape Cod fashion? Cape Cod fashion has certainly transformed over the past decade. There is definitely a place for Nantucket Reds and certain brightly colored brands, but there is a fast growing population that is a bit more mindful about what fabrics clothing is made from and where it is is made. Just because we live in paradise doesn’t mean that we are locked into sweatshirts and flip flops! We are certainly fashion forward and trendy. Not a bad combination. 42

Wearing a t-shirt and jeans is no longer as simple as wearing a t-shirt and jeans. With graphic tees having a huge moment on the runways and in stores right now, when you wear a t-shirt not only are you making a fashion statement, you are making a statement about yourself. Visuals and quotes and sayings and words tell the world what you care about and support; they can be a representation of you. Graphic tees are a street style staple and not only look cool paired with jeans (skinny, slouchy, boot cut – any style), but also with skirts or dress pants and a blazer. Finding the best style for you is like finding the best pair of jeans or bathing suit for you – you have to try on many different cuts. Fortunately, the t-shirt has evolved from a boxy, shapeless article of clothing to one that can be flattering and trendy. So, if you look better in a scoop neck or v-neck, in a loose fit or slim fit, or in a cap sleeve or three quarter sleeve, there is a graphic tee that suits you out there with your proverbial – or even actual - name on it.
