ARCHERY

Southwest Bowbenders Archery Club welcomes all ages to their indoor target range. Instruction and equipment are available at the indoor facility. BIKE PATH

Over 7.5 miles of on and off street bike paths in and around Worthington, including around Lake Okabena.

PICKLE BALL COURTS

Located on Clary Street, near the skatepark. Indoor court available at the Center for Active Living.

HORSESHOE PITS

Located at Chautauqua Park on Lake Okabena.

DISC GOLF

Sunset Bay Disc Golf Course is located off of County Road 10 (South Crailsheim Road) at the south end of Olson Park. This course has 18 holes and begins in a mowed area progressing into a more rustic area. Sunset Bay Disc Golf Course was made possible by donations from area disc golf groups, individuals, and businesses.

FISHING

Fishing is great on 785-acre Lake Okabena. Fish caught are Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Crappie, Channel Catfish, and Sunfish. Recent lake assessments show many walleye in the 17-to 22-inch range.

FOOT GOLF

It’s a unique blend of soccer and golf – kicking off at GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness. It’s played with a soccer ball on a golf course, but with separate greens. The goal? Get the ball in the hole with the fewest strokes (kicks) possible.

GOLFING

ICE FISHING

Lake Okabena, Round, East and West Graham Lakes, Lake Ocheda, and many other shallow marshes offer great walleye fishing that peak at times of the ice fishing season. All listed lakes operate aeration systems to help keep a healthy fish population year round.

HUNTING

This area is widely known for its quality goose hunting. Ocheda Lake State Game Refuge along with Talcott Lake State Game Refuge offer some of the best opportunities to harvest Canadian Geese in the state. With the abundance of publicly owned land, deer and pheasant hunting opportunities are numerous. Worthington was host to the 2014 MN Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener. Look for maps when you purchase your license.

SOCCER

Adult Soccer leagues every Sunday, mid-April through midSeptember. Points accumulate to a championship at seasons end. Practice weekdays at 5 p.m. All play at newly renovated soccer fields located at Buss Field on Sherwood Street. YMCA Youth Soccer is available. For more information contact the YMCA at 507-376-6197.

OUTDOOR ICE RINK

Located at Centennial Park near Clary Street. Wintertime Ice Rink and summertime street hockey. Fully lit and on a first come first serve basis.

MULTI-USE TRAIL

Explore over 7 miles of combined groomed trails at Olson Park Campground, Minnesota West Community & Technical College and the Worthington Regional Park. The newly groomed multi-use winter trail is a non-motorized recreational snow trail used for snow shoes, fat tire bikes and cross country skiing.

OCHEDA ORCHARD

29716 Read Avenue • Worthington, MN Ocheda Orchard is a pick your own orchard on 30 acres with more than 25 varieties of apples. Washington tree-ripened peaches, sweet corn and pumpkins are also available in season. Store hours and picking vary with the season. Located 4 1/2 miles south on County Road 5. Tennis courts are available at Minnesota West Campus, Worthington Middle School, and Pleasant and MillardWalker City Parks.

SOFTBALL

SNOWMOBILING

Snowmobiling is a very popular winter sport in the area. The 150-plus miles of Nobles County trails interconnect with trails in nearby areas giving a great ride. Frosty Riders, the local snowmobiling club, can be contacted for more information, frostyriders@gmail.com

SPLASH PAD

CENTENNIAL PARK • WORTHINGTON, MN. Featuring a 4,950-square-foot concrete splash pad, which includes a wet zone of 3,550-square feet. The splash pad has a water recycling system, 34 different water features, partially colored concrete, park benches and tables.

WINDSURFING

Lake Okabena benefits from the 20-mile Buffalo Ridge which deflects winds toward the lake, often at speeds of 15 or more knots, which makes ideal conditions for windsurfing. A regatta is held in the summer on the lake. For more information visit www.worthingtonwindsurfing.net.

WORTHINGTON GUN CLUB

WORTHINGTON ICE ARENA

Enclosed 1,100-seat arena is used for ice skating and hockey from October through March. At other times, the arena is available for rent, trade shows, craft shows and concerts. Located on the Nobles County Fairgrounds. Phone 507-376-5252.
