MESSAGE from the LTG Greetings my Division 20i Samurai!, I hope you all are having a fantastic summer so far! For those who don’t already know, I have just returned from an amazing week in sunny Anaheim at this years Key Club International Convention! Having the opportunity to meet key clubbers around the world really did open my eyes knowing that everyone in that convention center also shared the same passion I had for service. From Disneyland, to endless spirit battles that the Pacific Northwest district would start, to having our own districts, Kevin Zhang, win international Vice President, ICON 2014 was definitely an unforgettable experience that was hard to let go. ICON is to celebrate service, and I hope you all share the same passion I do for helping your home, school, and community. Thank you Division 20i for allowing me to serve as your Lieutenant Governor, and having me be the impact on how you view the true meaning of Key Club. Keep that Samurai spirit up! In caring service,
Ria Bains

Recap
Key Club International Convention took place in Anaheim, California from June 30th through July 6th for the Pacific Northwest District. The first two days were spent at Disneyland and California Adventure Parks, but this was only the beginning of the ICON tour. On July 2nd, we were joined with 1700 other key clubbers from around the world to share our love for service, become inspired to help the community, and unify as an international organization. From the meet and greet, to House of Delegates, and caucus rooms filled with questions for candidates running for office, to not only one, but 2 dances, to the workshops where key clubbers were able to gain more knowledge, to installment and retirement, ICON will most definitely be a memorable experience that I hope everyone will be able to attend some day.

How did you feel? Brennan Doyle CNH Division 16
ICON was the most incredible four days of my life, through workshops, meeting new people, and listening to inspirational people, I finally know what direction I want to take after high school, and I know ANYONE can make a difference.
Sing Lee New Jersey District
ICON was an amazing experience despite the fact that the Starbucks in the hotel added about $2 to every single one of their items and basically robbed me.
Nicole Lema New Jersey District I fell in love with Key Club all over again. Realizing you have common interests in service and the same passions to be servant leaders as people across the nation and world are simply amazing.
5
Marilyn Nguyen CNH Division 8
ICON was an opportunity for Key clubbers to become directly involved on the international level and vote for the next international board, get to know people from different districts as well as socializing with their own.
Abraham Park CNH Division 6 South Icon just made my key club experience 1000 times better. Just meeting new people who share the same passion as you is amazing. It was a fun experience I will never forget.
Justin Lonh CNH Division 6 North
ICON was a roller coaster of emotions ranging from fun and happiness to anger and frustration. I would give anything to be able to go back and experience that again.

WORD FROM THE IVP AND PNW’S VERY OWN Kevin Zhang Hello Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers! Over this past week, I along with 39 other PNW Key Clubbers and six Kiwanis chaperones had the opportunity to attend the 71st annual International Convention in the vibrant city of Anaheim, California. While there, we had the opportunity to attend educational workshops, meet Key Clubbers from across the world, and elect the 2014-2015 Key Club International Board. I am truly humbled and honored to announce that I was chosen out of a field of four other highly qualified candidates to be your next International Vice President. My biggest support throughout the entire journey, from the moment I decided to run until my name was announced on stage, was the entire Pacific Northwest District. So let me take this time to thank every single one of you- all 13,000+ members. It was your support that got me through not only ICON week but the months leading up to it. Thank you to everyone that messaged be “good luck” and to all of those that congratulated me afterwards. Even though many of you did not attend ICON 2014, I still felt as if all of you were alongside me. I look forward to personally thanking many of you as I travel to some of the upcoming area rallies. To all the graduating seniors, even though I will not have the opportunity to serve you for this upcoming year, I hope that many of you will decide to join Circle K in college and eventually Kiwanis. Once again, THANK YOU to the mighty Pacific Northwest District! I look forward to yet another fantastic year of service, friendship, and growth not only for Key Club International but also for our district! In Service,
Kevin Zhang Key Club International Vice President zhangkevin2015@gmail.com 360.250.3999

WARRIOR
of the MONTH
For the month of July, Lauren Doster has been awarded with warrior of the month. For those who don’t know Lauren, she is the Key Club president for Anacortes High School. Because of her hard work and dedication to Key Club, Lauren has always been on top of things such as reports, and also attends all officer trainings, DCMs and even attended this years International Convention in Anaheim along side me and the rest of the Pacific Northwest District. Division 20i thanks you for being not only a great officer, but an amazing key clubber that shows true passion for service. Keep up the good work!

JUNE DCM The June DCM took place at Washington Park, in Anacortes. The DCM was also an “interclub meaning that since it was jointed with Kiwanis, K-kids, Key Club and more from the K-family, we were officially able to call it an interclub meeting! We were able to have 4 Anacortes key clubbers attend, and 5 Oak Harbor key clubbers. I want to emphasize that DCMs are mandatory for club officers and attendance is vital. Also, since I will be gone on vacation all of July and August, there will be no DCM scheduled, but stay up to date for details on the next DCM!

MESSAGE
from the GOV
Hey Key Clubbers, Summer is finally here, and I hope all of you are kicking back and relaxing after a long school year’s end. All of you have put so much effort into the last school year, from taking AP and IB classes, to being in multiple clubs and activities, to all of your endless community service that you have done. To the seniors a special congrats on finishing high school, you guys have worked especially hard. I hope the memories of the last years in high school will carry with all of you, and I hope you know all the service you have done in the last few years, has been changing the lives of others. To the club members, remember that when the sun is out, it is a great chance to grab a few friends and serve, and that service doesn’t end when the school year does! Continue all of your hard work because when you give a little love, you get a little love back, when you give a lot of love, you get a lot of love back. The amount of effort you put into serving is the amount you get back, from seeing a smile from the kid who just got a card at children’s hospital, to packing a meal for a hungry family who lives in the neighborhood. The more and more you serve, the more and more you will see the community being affected, by the love and service you give to it. Remember that when you serve, give your whole heart to the project or fundraiser, and the results will soar. You are the change, with every good deed you do, no matter how big or small, it helps the people around you. From right around the corner to half way around the world, you guys are truly admirable. You give more than anyone could ever see or know, you guys don’t wish that you had the power to change the world, you know you have the power to change the world. Thank you all so much, and just remember, what you share with the world is what the world keeps of you. Lisa Antonio, Pacific Northwest District Governor
