Omotayo Akinbolajo Portfolio
Omotayo Akinbolajo My artwork depicts the visuals of different cultures and ideas and also explores it. The work that I create shows the attractive and unattractive parts of a culture but still keeping that cultures integrity. Stories are also told threw my work dealing with situations that relate to the culture that is being depicted at the time. During the process of creating my work I would develop them using a variety of mediums such as painting, drawing, and some printmaking. Culture is the art, beliefs, and institution passed down to a civilization socially. When I think of a culture, women come to mind because they usually characterize it, so a majority of my work embodies that concept. The intention of that concept is to show how culture is the base of any society and how women are the architects of a culture because they bring life into a society. My inspiration for the ideas of showing culture comes from me seeing culture as the definition of the world as we se it. It defines are life on a day to day bases and changes all the time so it is always something fresh and new you can find in it, it is also a vital part of the human experience which is also a major point in my work. Usually when I am doing research for my work new ideas or areas of interest come up, because of the fact that their just ins one universal culture or life experience.
