Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous statutory body established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, are the administrative Ministry of FSSAI.

Apply only for Registration Certificate only What is FSSAI Registration Certificate? It is a necessary registration certificate for small scale business whose turnover is below 12 lakhs annually. The FSSAI registration certificate is issued by the state government, and its maximum tenure is five years, and the minimum is one year.
Examples: Small-sized manufacturer, hawkers, temporary stallholder, itinerant vendor, and start-ups.

Apply for FSSAI STATE LISENCE The State license is for companies having annual turnover of more than Rs 12 lakh. It is issued by the State Government, and it is essential that you have operations in only one state. The maximum tenure of state license is five years, and the minimum is one year. Examples: Medium food businesses, manufactures, storage units, retailers, distributors and transporters.
Documentation Required for State Lisence - Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card of Proprietor/ Partners/ Director - Electricity/ Water bill (Business Place) - List of Directors with full address and contact - Proof of possession of premises - Partnership Deed/Affidavit of Proprietorship/MOA&AOA - NOC & Copy of License from manufacturer (mandatory for re-labelers and re-packers only) - Declaration Form - Authority letter - Food Safety Management System plan or certificate

The central licence is for units whose annual turnover is higher than 20 crores. It is issued by the central government, and its highest tenure is five years, and the minimum is for one year. Examples: Food businesses like importers, large manufacturing units, airports, central government agencies, seaports.
