Waterwalks 12th & 13th September 2009 Sponsored walks along and near selected towpaths throughout England and Scotland

The Waterways Trust is working with Leonard Cheshire Disability to create opportunities for friends, families, supporters of all ages, disabled and non-disabled, to enjoy the waterways whilst raising funds for disabled people.

Details: Waterwalks is a brand new event in aid of Leonard Cheshire Disability, the largest provider of services to disabled people in the UK. Over the weekend of 12th and 13th September 2009, a number of sponsored walks will be taking place. The locations of the walks are: Saturday 12th September ? Droitwich, Junction Canal ? Foxton, Leicestershire, Foxton Locks & Grand Union Canal ? Salterforth, Leeds & Liverpool Canal ? London, Regents Canal Sunday 13th September ? Bradford-on-Avon, Kennet & Avon Canal ? Edinburgh, Union Canal ? London, Docklands ? Littleborough, Rochdale Canal ? Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire, Grand Union Canal

What the walks have in common is that they all take place next to or near waterways. Working with The Waterways Trust, a national charity who promote greater public enjoyment of our inland waterways, we hope that through this event you will discover the wealth of benefits our waterways have to offer. All participants are asked to raise a minimum sponsorship of ÂŁ7.50 per person or ÂŁ20 per family group (2 adults and 2 children under 16). All participants will receive a certificate.
