RAV4 ready for tar and dirt roads TOYOTA has launched the fifth generation RAV4, boasting a lower centre of gravity and stiffer body, as well as improvements to the all-wheeldrive system, which now has torque vectoring. Two petrol engines — a 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre four-cylinder unit — drives the latest iteration of this popular SUV. SOUTH African guitar virtuoso Loki Rothman (pictured) showed his mastery of all genres on the guitar at the spectacular introduction of the new UD Kuzer and UD Quester at Sun City in April. Rothman does not just strum his guitar, but drums and strokes it to make it do the work of a three-piece band, much like UD40 owners used to do to their robust little trucks. At the launch, UD’s bosses told over 200 fleet managers the new Kuzer will ride into the big gap left by the UD40, and has been specced to work as a tipper, compactor, mini reefer or just drop side delivery truck. A wheelbase of 3850 mm offers a wide base to fit bodies on the back. One of the specs is the GVM — the Kuzer weighs one kilogram shy of nine tons, meaning drivers with a code 10 or EC1 licence can drive it. The Kuzer has proven itself a nimble delivery vehicle in crowded Oriental cities.
