GLOBAL VISIONS
VOLUME 7:
New Beginnings
As we celebrate the opening of our newest school, Dwight Hanoi in Vietnam — and wish them a fantastic start to their grand adventure — we’re reminded that each new school year is a new adventure. So, for this edition of Global Visions, we’ve asked each of our schools to contribute pictures focusing on those moments that prove things are up and running and pointing toward a fantastic year for the school.
Hanoi reports that the firsts taking place at their new campus “reflect the promise of new beginnings, each experience designed to ignite the spark of genius in every child’s Dwight Hanoi journey.”
Yes, Hanoi is in the midst of some amazing “firsts,” but so is each and every one of our schools, each and every new school year.
Much more news from each School can be found in the “From the Network” section of Dwight Today, which will publish in early December via dwight.edu/newyork.
Dwight New York
In the early weeks of a new school year, New York students were deeply engaged in their classrooms, in their work with their peers, and with their teachers. As the community gathered for special events like our Hispanic Heritage Month festivities and annual Spirit Day — both held at our new home for the Lower School at 94th Street — and Halloween parades, it truly hit home that our community was in full force once again. A new school year is well underway… and in fact, is not so new anymore!
NEW BEGINNINGS AT
Dwight London
We kicked off the year with our annual Ice Cream Social, a wonderful community event that allows our parents and students to connect. Since then, we have had an amazing term, including opportunities for students to showcase their sparks of genius for sports. Students from both Junior and Senior Schools participated in the Independent Schools Association’s Cross Country and Swimming competitions, achieving several medals and advancing to the next round. Another major focus has been hosting students from our global network for our annual ChoirFest — providing our musicians with the chance to perform on a professional stage and foster connections within our global community.
Dwight Seoul
Our new school year is off to an incredible start. From the thrill of the 4th Annual Dwight Seoul Family Golf Tournament and a celebratory pizza party for students of winning parents, along with numerous parent workshops, there’s energy everywhere. Students donned hanbok, the traditional clothing of Korea, for Chuseok, embraced Week
Without Walls adventures in Bali, Siem Reap, London, Osaka, Seoul, and Krabi, and dove into athletic and academic pursuits. At Moms and Dads Night Out, our community came together to raise ₩ 1,400,000 for a charity supporting Korean orphans in college. With visits from inspiring guests like a Yale admissions officer and trips like our grade 5 visit to Hyundai Motor Studi, this year is already unforgettable!
NEW BEGINNINGS AT Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School
Qibao Dwight welcomed a spirited group of 10th grade freshmen this semester. They’ve quickly adapted to high school through various orientation activities—including a talent show, off-campus team building, school club
activities, and more. We’re thrilled to offer a range of electives, a basketball tournament, the London Choir Festival, our third year at the Maker Faire, hearing from a noted photographer in our latest Spark Lecture Series, and a new sports season — all in the first few weeks of a new school year. This vibrant campus life gives students a platform to shine and fosters a creative learning environment.

Dwight Dubai
Dwight School Dubai kicked off the new academic year with an array of events that brought our community together. After welcoming over 100 new students to the Dwight community, we took the year head-on. From coffee mornings, to desert clean-ups, our families have been actively engaged from day one. Beginning the year with Meet the Teacher events, a series of edutalks, and swimming galas, our community quickly returned to their busy routine after a long Summer Break. We are thrilled to be able to offer a vibrant calendar of events for our community, to include music recitals, competitions, UAE Flag Day, and much more.
NEW BEGINNINGS AT Dwight Hanoi
In our first months, each day is filled with exploration, growth, and community. Our youngest students dive into storytelling and creativity, celebrating Tế t Trung Thu and
Halloween with traditions that build cultural connection and joy. From trampolining to designing their own take on Gus, students are inspired to learn and share unique perspectives. From the Dwight Hanoi choir, to yoga and team workouts, to visiting expert Rafael Katz from
Shanghai Qibao Dwight High School sharing his “spark of genius” in anime art, students are inspired to explore their own passions. LS students hone swimming skills in our aquatics center, MS students build teamwork through the Manchester City Football School, and US students are provided university guidance by Head of School Brantley Turner.
NEW BEGINNINGS AT
Franklin Jersey City
Soon after welcoming our new students and faculty, we were thoroughly impressed with how they have embraced dayto-day life at our school. Our community is thriving with the support of our Academic Care and Skills Curriculum, where students are developing the skills required to take them to the next level of their learning. We have just wrapped up a successful Fall Athletics Season and our Tigers competed in their first House Competition of the year, designed to build community across all grades. We can’t wait to see where the rest of the year takes us!
BEGINNINGS AT
Dwight Global Online
Orientation is one of our favorite traditions, which brings together faculty and students from all over the world at Dwight School’s New York City campus. This past September, Dwight Global students connected, explored, and got excited about the new school year. The diverse programming, from museum visits and social events to college tours, offered something for everyone. The addition of the college tour day for Upper School students was particularly valuable in helping them get a head start on their post-graduation planning. Overall, this Orientation launched the 2024-25 school year in an engaging and memorable way for our Dwight Global community.
