JM Eats: Uninspired Ethiopian at Keren Restaurant By Jordan-Marie Smith Eagle Staff Writer
With all that D.C. has to offer when it comes to ethnic cuisine, it was pretty shameful that I am just now getting around to Ethiopian food.
Unfortunately, I wish I had started somewhere besides Keren Restaurant on 18th and Florida

Q&A: Rachel Boynton, Director of “Big Men” By David Kahen-Kashi Eagle Staff Writer
Rachel Boynton is ambitious. Continually seeking new ways to push her filmmaking skill to maximum capacity, she took the feature documentary scene by storm with a film about corporate malfeasance in “Our Brand is Crisis.” Returning once again with an even more ambitious subject, “Big Men” depicts
backroom corporate dealing and even larger egos searching for oil and riches in Ghana and Nigeria.

Staff Editorial: Staff Ed: Bringing Cheney to AU was the right choice
Former Vice President Dick Cheney refuted accusations that he is a war criminal last week during a speech in Bender Arena. Multiple students left the event in protest, triggering campus-wide controversy and nationwide headlines. The AU community has since been forced to question the Kennedy Political Union’s choice of speakers and the role of student protesters on this campus. Cheney raised eyebrows on several occasions during his speech. After admitting that three people were waterboarded during his vice presidency, he denied that waterboarding qualifies as torture. He also insisted that if he had the chance, he would “do it all over again.” It wasn’t long before 10 students fled for the exits,
shouting, “Walk out on war criminals!” In the following 48 hours, the confrontation became a viral topic of debate both at home and at large. One op/ed published in The Eagle criticized Cheney’s appearance as “a slap in the face to the most fundamental values of this university.”

Op/ed: KPU Speakers Should Reflect American University Values
We are writing on behalf of students who took action at the Kennedy Political Union’s Dick Cheney event and others on campus who are disgusted and outraged that KPU used student money to bring this individual to AU. KPU provides a valuable service to students by showcasing speakers from across the political spectrum. We recognize the importance of respecting a range of political view-
points and highlighting voices that might not represent the political majority at AU. What we cannot accept is providing a platform to those whose political careers are built on positions and policies that undermine the mission and values of this University.continued their dominance of college social life until the 1960s, when Free Love hit campuses. Suddenly, supervised mixers, dances and games with
your big didn’t seem nearly as fun (or important) as protesting the Vietnam War and really experiencing life. In response, most fraternities tried to increase their autonomy from the schools, getting rid of as much supervision as possible by moving into off-campus housing.

Eagle sports staff predicts the 2014 MLB season By Kara Avecena Eagle Staff Writer

Harvey looks to return to action in August or September, providing a potential shot in the arm for them. Also, even though the lineup is usually criticized, if players such as Ike Davis and Chris Young can flash some of the potential they have shown in the past and if Curtis Granderson can return
to form, the Mets will have a solid, if not great lineup. If Atlanta’s injury troubles continue, I can even see the Mets making a run at second place and a wild-card spot.
