during routine, emergent and emergency situations. In this Interview with Terry Zysk, let us find out more about LiveProcess. The Company Tell us about the company. Founded in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, LiveProcess is known as the market leader in healthcare emergency solutions. Its offerings ensure that critical healthcare resources are delivered to the right people and the right time during emergencies and natural disasters. As the company grew, it expanded its offerings to include real-time situation management tools that hospitals use daily to connect information, people and resources. organizations. What were the initial challenges you faced? While the company is well known and valued in the crisis and incident management space, the early challenge was how to grow the business. How could LiveProcess reposition itself from being seen as an extremely valuable insurance policy to a critical solution that could be used daily to help health systems innovate, adapt and thrive in an ever-changing landscape? Which was that point that triggered the growth of the company? The growth of the company was prompted by the need to make our solution part of the everyday operation of a health system. Once we shifted the strategy and expanded our capabilities to engage with key departments and medical personnel, our usage blossomed. We went from selling to a single hospital to selling to larger health systems, coalitions and regional agencies.

What is the reason behind your company’s long-standing success?
foundational information is used to determine how we should grow, shift and evolve our offerings.
We are committed to creating long term value for our customers. We become immersed in their business and how they use our product. We listen to their goals and changing requirements and adapt to support those new needs. It’s that level of commitment, service, and support that keeps our retention rate high, while also providing new and valuable ideas for our product.
Cultivating strong customer relationships-We nurture our customer relationships and are committed to making sure they get continued value from our offerings. As a result, most are willing to share their insights about what they need, what they use, and what they don’t use. This feedback is invaluable and we use it as we develop our product strategy.
Products/Services
Is there any new addition to the list of products/services? Anything exciting you would like to share?
What are the products/services the company focuses on? How are your services different from those in the market? LiveProcess focuses on providing real-time situation management for health systems to best control the impact that events will have on their operations. Operating at the edge of the EMR, LiveProcess serves as a hub that allows health systems to connect, coordinate and collaborate across departmental, organizational and geographic boundaries – consistently and in real time. Through a single platform, clinical, operational and environmental staff are able to manage any situation from any device, and dynamically rebalance business and clinical operations for the best outcomes during routine, emergent and emergency situations.
Earlier this year the company announced LiveProcess Aware, a secure, real-time virtual situation management platform that helps healthcare systems be more effective through active vigilance gained from awareness and connectivity across the enterprise.
How do you decide to take the company a step further in terms of your products/services?
As we saw with the COVID-19 pandemic, health systems need to be better prepared to innovate and rapidly adapt to changing situations in order to thrive. To do this successfully requires real-time situational awareness and close collaboration across clinical, operational and business domains. While the EMR is central to hospitals and health systems, LiveProcess manages the critical information that resides outside of an EMR, complementary to the EMR, that allows hospitals to have real-time insight.
Constant vigilance-As a company, we are continually evaluating where we are and what’s going on in the marketplace. This

across departmental, organizational and geographic boundaries – consistently and in real time for proactive situation management across the enterprise. Accessible from any device, Aware allows users to understand what’s going on at every moment and use that information to mitigate risk, transforming how health systems respond to diverse event triggers. Can you please brief us about your professional experience? Terry Zysk is CEO of Live Process and has extensive experience leading healthcare businesses. She is a results-driven senior executive
access management solutions to the healthcare industry. Terry holds a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Daniel Webster College. What are the key achievements of your entrepreneurial journey? In each entrepreneurial situation over the last 20+ years, I’ve taken on the challenge of bringing a founder’s concept to market as a revenue producing solution. Some ideas were wildly successful and ultimately acquired by Fortune 100 companies. Others were attempting to enter a market long before the market was ready or weren’t complemented by favorable market conditions for the idea to take root and grow. I understand the importance of: • Creating value for the customers/market served • Developing professional growth opportunities for my team • Providing security for the investors/owners
with proven abilities to facilitate sustainable business growth through innovative leadership. She has seen three startups acquired, two by Fortune 100 companies. Prior to LiveProcess, Terry was the senior vice president of operations at MedVentive, which was acquired by McKesson; CTO at Health Dialog where she oversaw corporate technology operations for the $250M care management, healthcare analytics, decision support, and health coaching provider; and vice president provisioning business operations at Sentillion, Inc. (now Caradigm), a leading provider of identity and
The feedback I receive consistently is that I am quietly competent. I know how to get things done and take action without drama. How do you look after your employees? What makes your team unique? I give my trust, respect and whatever else my team needs to be successful. I always treat my teams as professionals. This ultimately provides a great environment for relationships to develop and fosters innovation. What makes our team unique is that we like each other and we enjoy working together. Many of us have worked together off and on over the last 20 years,
that just makes the bond stronger. Going through the tough stuff has bolstered our relationships and benefited the company. Constant vigilance- a need or a strategy? Please share your views. Constant vigilance is both a need and a strategy as together they offer the recipe for long-term success. As a strategy, it is an adaption that serves to help you achieve your desired outcome. As a need, it is the foundational behavior that keeps you on a path, and if you are not constantly vigilant, you're going to fail. It’s a rat-race out there. How do you cope with that? In today’s crazy world what brings me peace is being with my dogs, practicing yoga and experiencing the outdoors. My dogs remind me to be in the present and enjoy life. They just wag their tails happily embracing each moment, never stressing about the past or worrying about the future. Yoga has taught me how to empty my brain and to reach a more peaceful way of living. The breathing, clearing of the mind and the practice of being in the moment all have lessened my stress “off the mat”. I make sure I go outside everyday as it is the ultimate de-stressor for me. It doesn’t matter whether I am experiencing the sun, mountains, oceans, wilderness, snow or even just the simple wildlife in my backyard. All of it gives me energy and improves my mood. www.theenterpriseworld.com | 19

If LEARNING is King Then ENGAGEMENT is Queen
20 | December 2020
A
quote by Ben Franklin is still relevant today: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” As technology continues to allow more efficiencies and its effectiveness continues to be confirmed, companies are adopting the digital world as an alternative to being held hostage to real estate investments. Many companies have committed to continuing virtual work and learning environments because they saw performance increase by as much as 47%. Other companies have taken notice of the significant environmental impact, as proven during the initial COVID pandemic that shut world travel down, creating an 11% decline in CO2 emissions.
And, most employees prefer working from home. We know that happy employees are more productive and engaged. A survey by Owl Labs found that the overwhelming majority of employees prefer working from home. Why wouldn't they? They save between $2,000 and $6,000 per year in work-based expenses, the frustration of rush hour traffic, and the loss of several hours from their day is significantly reduced. In fact, employees gained back an average of 8.5 hours of personal time per week. However, using a blended or virtual learning approach is not without its challenges when it comes to ensuring training has the same impact virtually that it does when you have people in a training room. Technology designed specifically for virtual training can actually
provide more tools than a conference room or a training room. When you include the ability to “quiz” the group real-time and get immediate results back, along with automatically capturing engagement analytics, technology can significantly assist in understanding your training program results. Social interaction is a huge component to successful training. This is often more important for participants than for trainers. Engagement and activity-based learning can be viewed as difficult using many of the online products that everyone is familiar with. While these web-conferencing systems offer the ability to get people together in a session, the ability to get the type and quality of engagement and social learning is often overlooked. Virtual training requires specialized skills. Trainers should be trained and coached so they are comfortable managing a virtual training program. They also need to be trained on the technology that is being used. The biggest failure of virtual (online) trainers is just not knowing the tools they are using. Proficiency and comfort using the technology is as important as knowing the subject matter being covered. This happens when proper training on the platform is done and the trainers spend time familiarizing themselves with it, practicing in it, and becoming proficient in it. In most online training, the presenter is in control of “all things”. Short of a chat board, traditional online solutions puts 100% control in the hands of the trainer. This leaves participants
isolated, with little to nothing to do. Boredom quickly sets in. Using technology that gives participants an opportunity to review information and own their learning experience is much more powerful. These tools that encourage participation and helps trainers get everyone engaged are a natural part of technologies that were built specifically for training and learning. A strategy that works well for engagement is small group projectbased programs. Using virtual breakout rooms that move participants into small groups encourages engagement and learning. Having participants “own their learning experience by working during training” increases attention, engagement, knowledge transfer, and retention. As you're looking at the best solution for small group learning, be sure to evaluate the technology that gives you the easiest and most robust options. Not all breakout rooms are created equal. It's difficult to get everyone engaged in a face-to-face setting, and even more difficult in a virtual world. Using different tools and tactics to encourage participation can mean the difference between a well-trained team producing excellent results or one that's producing just enough to get by. “An organization's ability to learn and translate that learning into action rapidly is the ultimate competitive advantage.” —Jack Welch (former CEO of General Electric) If learning is King, engagement is Queen. You cannot have one without the other. www.theenterpriseworld.com | 21

MaxMD IT Works Today
M
axMD is a leader in secure healthcare information technology and interoperability solutions. MaxMD is committed to providing secure communications solutions that enable superior coordinated care for healthcare practices, organizations, hospital systems and HIT application service providers.
In this Interview with Mr. Scott Finlay, let us know more about the company. The Company Tell us about the company. From its inception, MaxMD’s mission has been to create scalable, affordable clinical data liquidity. By providing customers with technology that improves the coordination of patient care and enables better healthcare outcomes, MaxMD has earned the trust of healthcare customers across the industry. Today, MaxMD prides itself on its ability to provide value
by making it safer, easier, and more cost-effective to handle inputs and outputs to or from any new or legacy edge system at scale. MaxMD maximizes our technical capabilities and knowledge of healthcare information technology standards to dramatically improve the value proposition beyond simple data transport offered by many of our industry competitors. We believe reliance on a single technology standard isn’t optimal or feasible given the fragmented nature of the healthcare market. MaxMD leverages what works today while positioning for what's coming tomorrow. MaxMD stands out in the market, owing to its ability to innovate for customers. Unlike other HISPs that focus solely on secure and trusted data transport, MaxMD offers solutions with more significant features that improve workflows and leverage both emerging and widely adopted HIT standards. The company’s services include

| Interview with The Enterprise World
features such as a sophisticated integration engine that transforms data from one format to another, converting proprietary outputs to standards-based HL7 C-CDA or FHIR formats. While the company has added a data validation engine to manage data quality and a robust rules engine to control the flow, it also has a Natural Language Processing engine to make better use of narrative data too. As a result, the company's services enable clients to receive information in a format that is compatible with their existing technology and current workflows or convert to new formats supporting a transition toward new technology and new improved workflows. Our vision is that of an “interoperability solution provider” that creates scalable and affordable clinical data liquidity without the need to abandon legacy systems or relinquish control. It’s about offering “instant interoperability” by providing technology solutions that make it easier for other organizations to make use of emerging capabilities like mobile apps, digital devices, and webbased solutions poised to improve healthcare communications and outcomes. Our approach allows data to be more widely distributed as opposed to creating redundant consolidated data repositories, which we believe is a superior approach to security. Perhaps most important, MaxMD makes no claim to our client’s data for the purposes of monetizing people’s private information. It is
24 | December 2020
one thing to provide technology in exchange for free use of an application; it is entirely something else to usurp the data flowing through that “free” technology for monetary gain. Our HISP roots run deep. As a trusted steward of protected health information, our business model isn’t based around monetizing other people’s data. We leave decisions about how data will be used to the rightful owners. Our clients can verify and trust that we don’t aggregate and sell their data. That’s not what we built our business to do. Administering ethical data privacy and consent policies is an important part of what MaxMD believes. What were the initial challenges you faced? Healthcare interoperability challenges have been compounded by longstanding industry dynamics such as reliance on outdated siloed systems, lack of uniform data standards and an incredibly fragmented healthcare market place. However these are also the market dynamics that our solutions are ideally suited to tackle. MaxMD builds standards-based, scalable solutions designed to create cost effective clinical data liquidity. While Progress on exchanging interoperable health information has been slow it is improving and the pace of change is poised to accelerate with the passing of the 21st Century Cures Act. There’s complexity to overcome in multiple areas. MaxMD provides easily accessible tools and services that interface with virtually any existing Healthcare Information Technology system. Our technology supports
bi-directional exchange, which makes closed-loop communication possible and encourages patientprovider engagement. Which was that point that triggered the growth of the company? We’ve grown significantly over the past couple of years and we are expanding our services in response to client's needs. There is no single factor that has created growth ; rather it is an accumulation of factors such as the creation of the Office of the National Coordinator of Healthcare Information Technology, the development of standards such as Clinical Data Architecture (CDA) , the Direct Protocol (DSM), Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and the movement towards value based care and just as importantly legislation such as the 21st Century Cures Act that is driving both innovation and growth. We believe reliance on a single technology standard isn’t optimal or feasible given the fragmented nature of the healthcare market. MaxMD leverages what works today while positioning for what’s coming tomorrow. MaxMD has deep technical expertise and offers leadership in the application of standards such as HL7 Version 2 (V2), Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). We enable our customers to leverage available standards and achieve the interoperability they require. Our solutions address a wide range of client types and customer needs. We automate event notifications for admissions, discharges and other
types of care coordination. We make it easy for health information technology (HIT) innovators to exchange standard Consolidated CDA (C-CDA) documents to and from legacy HIT systems. MaxMD is on the forefront of deploying information exchange solutions that bridges the use of existing C-CDA standards and newer FHIR-based technology. Our solutions support providers, payers and patients, and offer mobile app technology that can augment traditional EMR and edge-system user interfaces.” What is the reason behind your company’s long-standing success? Several factors separate MaxMD from peers in the industry. What really distinguishes the company is its commitment to the principle “best idea wins” and its competence in leveraging HIT Standards to accelerate creativity and innovation. A master of HIT standards, MaxMD offers compliant solutions that create market differentiation. MaxMD sees standardization as a catalyst that accelerates innovation and differentiation, not something that limits differentiation. Creating technology that does more than meet the compliance requirements of the 21st Century Cures Act is fueling growth for MaxMD. Powered by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced healthcare professionals with complementary skills and creative problem-solving natures, MaxMD is committed to creating scalable and affordable clinical data liquidity across a technology-dependent and fragmented healthcare ecosystem.

As technology was not solving the issues presented to the providers, the company first looked at better ways to complete clinical documentation focusing on Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and patient encounters. Which was that point that triggered the growth of the company? The widespread adoption of mobile phones and devices provided a foundation for the company to connect its innovative technology to the providers–giving them a 'platform in their hands' that would improve their profitability, productivity, and patient care. ScribeMobile allowed providers access to documentation anywhere and anytime in an easy to use format. How have the company graphs changed since the foundation? Can you share a few statistics? (You can share the charts/graphs here). Scribe started from the ground up with no existing staff, software or clients. Through the subsequent years, we have processed over 50 million patient encounters. This is a result of building a base of medical providers and have supported more than 40,000 over this period. Our customers range from solo independent practitioners to university hospital systems and cover a range of specialties from primary care, orthopedic surgeons, and behavioral health throughout the United States. What is the reason behind your company’s long-standing success?
30 | December 2020
Scribe’s success is built on a foundation of : Customization: Scribe’s solutions are tailored to each practice. Our staff works with each new customer to understand that practice’s workflow, goals, and processes to develop the best user experience for our solutions. Experienced Workforce: Scribe’s team is composed of people who have long been in the healthcare technology industry. And as the entire workforce works remotely, there aren’t the constraints of geography; the best person for a position can live in any corner of the country. Flexibility and Ease of Use: Once our solutions are designed for each practice, the day-to-day use will be straightforward. The providers do not need to change any other systems, including their EMR. Scribe’s cloud-based solutions allow providers to work where and when they choose. The Products/Services What are the products/services the company focuses on? How are your services different from those in the market? Scribe provides a complete family of patient encounter workflow solutions to record, manage, complete, and communicate clinical documentation that can be combined in any way to solve the individual organization’s needs. The company works with each practice to learn about the providers’ workflow and goals to engineer the processes that fit best. It premiere solutions include,
• ScribeTeleCare: It is a telehealth solution designed and created by and for healthcare professionals. The flexible architecture allows for a virtual replication of a provider’s physical office workflow. This tool can be used with or without the documentation component. Moreover, providers can support the care of their patients and facilitate reimbursement with one tool. • ScribeMobile: It is an app for both Android and iOS devices that gives providers greater freedom to focus on their patients instead of being tied to their computers and keyboards. The application gives providers the ability to capture patient encounters quickly and efficiently, and the ability to review, approve, and access patient documents and schedules at any time, and any place. • LiveScribe: It gives providers the option of having a remote scribe to listen and record the patient encounter in realtime, resulting in more focus on the patient, faster, and accurate documentation as the EMR is completed by the scribe during the encounter. Moreover, with the addition of LiveScribe to ScribeMobile, providers can further extend the capabilities of their devices by connecting to a remote (virtual) scribe in real-time to complete encounters. How do you decide to take the company a step further in terms of your products/services? We monitor what trends and technologies are changing within
the industry and make adjustments accordingly. Is there any new addition to the list of products/services? Anything exciting you would like to share? Our most recent addition, Scribe TeleCare, was ready to be launched in Spring 2020. We had no idea that the introduction would happen at the same time as a pandemic surged and we are grateful for the opportunity to offer our providers a service they needed at such a time. Leadership What do you think are the responsibilities of an entrepreneur? I believe that entrepreneurs should set the vision, build an outstanding team, and never say no for a final answer - only “not yet.” Can you please brief us about your professional experience? Prior to founding Scribe, I had more than three decades of management experience in finance, operations, marketing, and technology. I have worked with companies such as IBM, where I helped to start the IBM PC division. Later at Anixter, I was instrumental in formulating the strategy that fueled their growth from a $500 million company to a $1.5 billion company. What are the key achievements of your entrepreneurial journey?
makes a positive difference for our providers is the exact reason that Scribe was founded. How do you look after your employees? What makes your team unique? Scribe’s team is unique in how it came to be -- it includes a combination of staff from companies that have merged with or been acquired by Scribe, as well as staff who Boyce has worked with in other endeavors. The entire staff works remotely, and much of the staff has the flexible work hours to meet their responsibilities to the company. Is there any special experience with your clients you would like to highlight? Scribe is successfully working with behavioral health clients. Traditionally, this specialty is not paid as well as others, but their case load is much higher and often includes traveling from location to location which cut into their time to complete documentation of their patient encounters. These behavioral health professionals began using ScribeMobile, which they can use anywhere or anytime. The encounter narratives are typically much longer than with other specialties and they can now complete this task while on the road. ScribeTeleCare has been a useful tool for behavioral health practitioners as face-to-face visits were severely limited during the COVID-19 pandemic. Personal Questions

In the year 1929, the market crash was not the only problem Forbes faced. With new competitors in the market whose news oriented approach and long, indepth analysis of the corporations beat Forbes’ subjective style of businessman-as-hero which was no more cutting-edge then. Fun Fact- Forbes’ advertising fell from 1216 pages in 1929 to 269 only. The 1940s saw an increase in the circulation of the magazine when Malcolm S. Forbes while working with his father initiated several changes that included hiring a staff of workers who would work exclusively for Forbes, and also started the Forbes Investors Advisory Institute. In the 1990s, Forbes worked hard to keep up with the changing scenarios of technology. A Japanese edition was unveiled in March 1992; a Chinese edition was announced in 1993; and in 1998 Forbes Global Business and Finance, an English-language international edition, was launched under the leadership of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. However, the challenge of Internet remained, and with this, Forbes launched a new technology quarterly supplement Forbes ASAP in 1992, and then in the mid-1990s, Forbes moved on to an online presence, named “Forbes Digital Tool”. conditions. The platform will decrease the number of hospital visits, and the length of hospital stays for patients. This marketcreating innovation will directly impact health insurance enterprises in the USA and national healthcare authorities in the EU, who will launch a new category of preventative care delivery with a significant reduction in insurance premiums. What were the initial challenges you faced?
Tell us about the company. Think Biosolution was founded in March 2016 in Dublin, Ireland, and is now a global innovation leader in building customized early warning score based triaging platforms for assisted living facilities and hospital groups in the USA. Our two current platforms are the Athome COVID-19 Monitoring Platform and the At-home Geriatric Care Platform. Think Biosolution currently uses third-party point of care medical devices like pulse oximeters and blood pressure monitors to predict the onset of a chronic condition for a given patient. Our future Chronic Disease Prevention platform is projected to be launched in early 2023 will help patients prevent the onset of new eighteen different chronic
Our biggest challenge was to find a good product-market fit for our technology. We knew from the getgo that our multiparameter wearable medical device QuasaR™ could have big impacts in multiple marketplaces, including regulated medical devices, smart apparel, and professional athlete monitoring. However, it took us two years to identify the correct market place, i.e., long-term care facilities in the USA. It then took us another two years to quantify our target customers’ impact on KPIs for patient outcomes, cost savings, and an increase in revenue.
savings, and revenue increase for long-term care facilities helped us trigger growth. Long term care facilities include assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, posthospitalization care, and at-home care. The other major factor was the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic ushered in a huge need for provider organizations to immediately deploy patient monitoring programs for at-risk, suspected, and confirmed COVID19 patients. How have the company graphs changed since the foundation? Can you share a few statistics? (You can share the charts/graphs here). We have already done pilot launches of our existing platforms with four healthcare facility partners and have achieved annual recurring revenue (ARR) of €408,012 in Q3 2020. We have payment orders in place with the existing commercial partners worth €3,412,200 to be fulfilled by Q3 2021.
Which was that point that triggered the growth of the company?

with sales and marketing experience. This balance has helped us to iteratively identify a niche yet scalable market need not addressed by any of our competitors. The USA physician to population ratio is 295:100,000. As a result, treatment is delivered in long term care facilities to patients with critical and severe symptoms. Our platforms help patients prevent the onset of new chronic conditions, manage escalation of existing chronic diseases, and therefore decrease the number of hospital visits and length of hospital stays. The Products/Services What are the products/services the company focuses on? How are your services different from those in the market? Our two current platforms are the At-home COVID-19 Monitoring Platform and the At-home Geriatric Care Platform. This platform is a virtual doctor that uses early warning score based triaging to provide long term care facility administrators real-time updates about capacity, condition, and overdue tasks. None of our competitors can predict that the onset of chronic conditions is focused on managing single chronic conditions. Examples - Propeller Health (Respiratory), Datos Health (Cardiology and Oncology), and Vivify (Health Cardiology and Hypertension). How do you decide to take the company a step further in terms of your products/services? We are now getting regulatory 36 | December 2020
approval for the QuasaR™ device. QuasaR™ device is a wearable medical device that can measure the maximum number of biometric parameters in the marketplace (heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, movement, location, and temperature). By combining these biometric parameters, the QuasaR™ device will be monitoring patients for the onset of new chronic conditions when patients start using QuasaR™ for managing a single chronic condition. Our future Chronic Disease Prevention platform uses the QuasaR™ device and is projected to be launched in early 2023. Is there any new addition to the list of products/services? Anything exciting you would like to share? Our disruptive innovation is our eighteen patented disease-specific early warning scores that can prevent the onset of half of all existing chronic conditions. Using these early warning scores, our Athome Chronic Disease Prevention platform will be able to provide automated triaging for high-risk patients in long term care facilities or at-home. This market-creating innovation will directly impact health insurance enterprises in the USA and national healthcare authorities in the EU, who will launch a new category of preventative care delivery with a significant reduction in insurance premiums. Leadership What do you think are the responsibilities of an
entrepreneur? The most important responsibility of an entrepreneur is to find a product-market fit. Digitalization to manage Health Care
With so much investment in the research and development in the medical field, the gene-editing technologies are advancing rapidly. These technologies have changed the face of disease detection, and on the other hand, these technologies are also proving to be helpful in the field of agriculture, where the genes of seeds prone to a particular disease are modified to get healthy seeds which results in a disease-free production.
The cloud technology is used everywhere, right from small scale industries to the education industry. The cloud storage helps the institutions to store large amounts of data and use it when required. Similar technology can be used in the health care industry to store the patients’ information and his medical history for any further references. So if the patient happens to visit the hospital with similar disease as the last time, you can easily lead the diagnosis.
Exosomes as the potential targeted therapy The exosomes are extra cellular bodies that form the communication bridge from one cell to another. The advance medical treatments have suggested the use of exosomes as a therapy for the diseases. As these exosomes are mediators for the communication between the cells, it would be easier to target them to supress cancer cell growth. Also they can be used as the nanocarriers for the treatment of other
