They also built an advantage through strategic partnerships and a whole new approach to training, care, and support for those with Alzheimer’s. They have new exclusive opportunities as a brand that no other competitor currently possesses, and they are excited to launch a whole new service model with their very own proprietary technology currently in the final stages of development. LEADERSHIP AT IN HOME PERSONAL SERVICES A unique company such as IHPS requires a leader who not only fulfils the qualities of a successful businessman but also is a man of compassion, a man of dignity, but most of all, a man of principles and honor. In Home Personal Services began in January 2004, under the unrivalled and extraordinary leadership of Michael A. Collura, President of IHPS. Michael is working with his Mother to provide quality care to seniors who wish to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Michael and his mother understood early on the challenges facing many seniors and their families when it came to aging and the desire to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle in the comfort of one's familiar surroundings. In Home Personal Service was formed with the belief that home care should be tailored to meet the individual needs of every client. It has remained their mission, to ensure the client and their family receive the highest level of quality care. A true pleasure and joy, no matter the hardship, the sacrifice or challenge the team and Michael has seen, they will continue to thrive. Not because they need to, but because they truly love what they do, and they want to be here doing it. Knowing what they do and how it impacts the lives of others is an honor and privilege that has brought immeasurable joy to Michael's life. Many challenges were faced along the way including new laws and regulations for standards of quality care introduced by State authorities in 2008. Michael and the IHPS team were already operating well above these new standards, proving their mission was a success as they had not only met the standards of quality care issued by the regulatory authorities, they had exceeded them. Today, Michael continues his mission and In Home Personal Services has grown not just in its native State of Illinois, but throughout the United States.

Factors that make IHPS a class apart and strengthen their longstanding success. From what was a single client earning a meager $5.00 per day on the service has grown to a multimillion dollar in annual revenue empire that has developed and built a system of unique strategies and a franchise system to replicate all across the United States and beyond. Day one triggered their growth because they came into this already wanting to be different in a positive way. Those early successes led to 16

new milestones that created new achievements and they built a brand and a business model alongside a massively talented team of dedicated professionals that many are still doing the good work and continuing the mission which is deep-rooted in the values, history, and foundation of IHPS. IHPS has a team of people that care. They care about the company's mission, the client, their families, the impact they make every day in the lives of others. More importantly, they care that they deliver the trusted care to

those that may be viewed as vulnerable, but never viewed as anything less than valued members of our community. This makes them best suited and capable to do their jobs, not like a job but more like a moral duty, a debt that has to be paid to the elderly for their contribution to our world, and making it reach where it stands now. The Team of In Home Personal Services and how they carry the mission forward. For starters, they care. The team of

IHPS cares about what they do. For clarity, the team looks after Michael and after the brand, not the other way around. Their value is without question and while leadership will work to provide challenge and opportunity, it is the team that drives the company forward and makes IHPS who they are. They are the strength in their reputation, and they are every reason for the success of IHPS. Also, leadership does everything possible to ensure they can continue to do what it is that makes them so valuable. IHPS takes its services and company ahead by being innovative. They don’t see “problems”, they see “opportunity”. Today, they have several new service type improvements all in place as a franchise system that have never been done before, certainly not quite like how they see it. These innovations in senior care will bring an additional quality of life and improved livelihood to their client base and their families. They are developing these today and continue to look forward. Michael’s thoughts on the responsibilities of an entrepreneur. Integrity. More than just to yourself but to all. Leadership as a whole will fail at some point, that is why the integrity to recognize this fact and develop those around you to be properly trained, empowered, and ready to step in is so vital to the growth and success of any brand. Entrepreneurs all have that “fire”, the desire to be one’s “own boss”. But those that thrive and succeed see that the truth in entrepreneurship is in developing

others and stoking the same fire within them to be more, to be better, and to bring these same opportunities to others. Entrepreneurs are the heart and soul of the US economy because they make ready the next round of entrepreneurs from within their ranks when done properly. Stop. Listen. Learn. Adapt. The only “failure” is in not overcoming the obstacles in front of you. Michael says ‘I have been knocked down and I will be again’. But getting back up and tackling the challenge is more than just going around it. It is about facing the issue, finding a solution rather than turning that into something you can use as an opportunity. Failure is a future opportunity waiting for an entrepreneur to figure out. Michael’s views on constant vigilance as a need or a strategy, and his take on the rat race in the market. No matter the role he plays whether it be leader, executive, entrepreneur, or care provider. Vigilance has been a powerful resource and necessary component of success and life. If he were to give up, that would be a true failure! The “race” is for all those running the same path. Think of a racetrack. They are all going in the same direction. Michael, he carves his own path. So instead of “racing”, he focuses on innovation, growth, and forward-thinking. Michael states he is not bogged down by watching everyone else. He works down his path so they can glimpse over at him to see what he is doing.

The 5 Most Important Questions To Ask Your Dental Implant Provider!

A

beautiful smile speaks louder than words, and that’s why dental implants are so important; they can provide attractive stability so that you can move through your day with confidence. Before you get your dental implant procedure, these are Important Questions To Ask Your Dental Implant Provider to ensure a safe surgery with lifelong success. 1. What Kind of Formal Education in Dental Implantology Does your Dental Provider Have? Knowing more about your dental provider’s training and education is an important part of selecting a dental professional. Ask them how long they spent in training and what kind of continuing education they’ve received, recommends Dr. Amanda Sheehan of Oakland Family Dental in Waterford, Michigan. She is a diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantology, which is one of the only board certification programs in the U.S., and she has completed more than 2,000 hours of continuing education that includes dental implants. If you’re concerned that your dental provider doesn’t have extensive education and training, Dr. Sheehan advises that this is not the time to be shy. “Ask them what kind of guarantee they offer, how many of these implants have they done before, and what’s their success rate. You need to make sure that you have confidence in your provider,” she says. 2. Does your Dentist have a CBCT Scan in their Office? While the term CBCT or cone-beam computed tomography may be unfamiliar, this is just a 3-dimensional imaging machine that allows the dental provider to get a more detailed look at all of the features of your mouth. A typical X-ray offers a 2-dimensional look that

www.theenterpriseworld.com

27

highlights bone structures but a 3-D image includes the thickness of your jaw bone and the location of your nerves, artery, and more. Dr. Sheehan says this advanced view is necessary for dental implant work because it allows the dental provider to have a better road map for the procedure, identify areas of greater risk, and appropriately plan to reduce those risks. “We have a CBCT right here in the office and I use it every day to make sure that my patients are safe. I would never place an implant on somebody without one, and I would never let somebody in my family have one without one. It’s just too risky. The technology is here to help us make this very easy for you,” Dr. Sheehan says. 3. Will the Dental Implant and the Crown be Placed in the Same Office? In some cases, getting dental implants requires the work of two doctors. There’s the oral surgeon who places the implant, and a dentist who puts on the crown. There’s nothing wrong with this arrangement as long as those doctors work closely together to ensure you have great results with your dental implants. Doing things this way can take a little more time and add a little more expense because there are two doctors involved in the process, but some oral surgeons and dentists make great teams and have worked in collaboration for the benefit of their patients for years. Dr. Sheehan suggests finding a team with a proven track record of success in placing dental implants or finding a single dental care provider who can complete both the implant and crown procedures.

28

SEPTEMBER 2021

4. How is your Dentist going to take into Account your Specific Medical Conditions? In Dr. Sheehan’s experience, the success of your dental implant procedure rests heavily on your personal medical history and conditions. In Dr. Sheehan’s practice, she may work with a patient’s primary care physician if the patient has low Vitamin D levels; achieving optimal Vitamin D levels can improve the outcomes of dental implant surgery. Being a smoker is a common health concern that can affect the success of dental implant surgery and healing, too. When talking to your dental surgeon, be sure to inform them of your full medical history and any medications you’re taking so your treatment plans can be customized to your personal needs. 5. How Accessible is your Surgeon after Surgery? Being able to contact your dental implant surgeon after your procedure is critical. If you have a question about healing, a suture comes loose, or you’re wondering whether you can eat a particular food, you’ll want the comfort and reassurance of being able to talk to your doctor. If you have to travel a long distance for care, as happens when people choose to have implant surgery internationally, you may not be able to return to your doctor’s office easily if there’s a concern. Dr. Sheehan reminds patients that having a surgeon who communicates well helps ensure a great dental implant experience. Keep these questions in mind when evaluating oral surgeons to increase your chances of positive outcomes with dental implants. Everyone wants a beautiful smile with secure and healthy teeth. Qualified dental professionals will be happy to answer these and any other questions you may have about the dental procedures best suited for your oral health goals.

Considering Your Medical Career Options? The Aesthetics Industry Is Calling

W

hen you wish to hop on the medical industry, the good news is, there are so many career options from which you could choose. Careers aren’t only limited to the usual medical procedures in the hospital, if this isn’t what you’re after; there are other sectors within the medical field like in therapy, the academe, dentistry, and even the aesthetics industry. In America and in Canada in particular, the aesthetics industry is a booming one. So many more men and women across all ages and demographics are keen on having aesthetic procedures done. Some require surgery, while others are non-invasive. But even for the latter, medical expertise is still necessary to ensure top-notch results. If you’re still on the fence about it, this post should give you convincing reasons why you should consider entering the aesthetics industry. Read on! 1. High In Demand In Canada, cosmetic nurses are in high demand, much like in other places around the world. Technological advancements have also brought more treatment options across different budget ranges, which has made aesthetic treatments more accessible to many people. Aging is normal, but its effects can be slowed down through various procedures. This means men and women around the world are now more than willing to spend for aesthetic treatments, just to keep the largest organ in their bodies healthy. This demand presents a wide financial opportunity for clinics to open and medical aesthetics industry nurses and dermatologists to enter the aesthetics industry. As such, those willing to adapt to the current trend will have flourishing careers with competitive pay.

2. Have More Control Over Your Time

4. More Time To See More Patients In A Day

Unlike other medical professionals working in a hospital setting, working in medical aesthetics enables you to have more control over your time. Dermatology clinics usually follow regular business hours. However, if there are no patients or scheduled appointments for the day, they can opt to open later, if they have something else to do. This means it’d be easier for you to adjust your weekly or daily schedule according to your preferences and also your patient load.

Economically, you may also be able to see more patients in a day. Depending on the procedure your patients have, some may even be as quick as half an hour, such as for Botox treatments. For as long as you don’t skimp on the quality of service just to see more patients in a day, you could potentially earn more when you admit more patients.

Most importantly, unlike other medical professionals, you neither operate on an on-call demand nor would you have to do graveyard shifts. This is definitely a major plus, especially for those who have familial obligations.

Schedule-wise, this also means you don’t necessarily always have to go beyond your clinic hours just to fit all your patients within the same working day. More so, the bigger your clinic and the more staff you’ve hired, the higher the number of visitors that can be catered to simultaneously. Conclusion

3. Work In A Fulfilling Field When you’re working in a career where you have a sense of fulfillment, your working days are going to be filled with so much pride and joy. It’s a false notion to think that those who undergo medical aesthetic procedures are only in it for vanity. Some may be suffering seriously from a lack of confidence and self-esteem due to their physical imperfections. You can change their lives, even if it’s only through the job that you do. You can make your patients feel a lot better about themselves by giving them a newfound sense of confidence. Furthermore, you get to witness your patients’ transformation, and you may even leave an impact on their lives, emotionally and psychologically, by simply being with them every step of the way.

36

SEPTEMBER 2021

As you can see, working in medical aesthetics is a very attractive work opportunity. This is a great sector for those who wish to work in healthcare but don’t necessarily like to be in the hospital. In Canada, the USA, and even in other parts of the world, there are so many training opportunities you can avail to receive the proper certifications necessary to be qualified in medical aesthetics. For as long as this is a field you’re excited and keen on entering, you’ll find your workdays to be exciting. It’s fulfilling work too when you get to change the lives of your patients by giving them newfound confidence to let their inner beauty shine.
