MARKET WRAP Nifty and Sensex were closed green; gained 1.04%, 1.05% resp. this week. New Home Sales 377K and US Unemployment Claims at 350K. US & Euro markets were mixed; Asian markets too were also mixed last week.
Indian markets ended gained on Friday; on this week the Sensex and Nifty were green, Marginally up around by 1.00 % each. Major sectors which were up like Realty, Oil & Gas. Top gainers were HDIL (up 2.8%) Unitech (up 2.8%), Cairn India (up 2.6%).HPCL (up 5.1%).GSPL (up 4.6%) Technically Nifty may expected to drop from this point or a short term range bound movement this week; Nifty this week may range 6150-5690.
Risks to India's macro-economic stability have increased on the back of an economic slowdown, high inflation, and ballooning fiscal and current account deficits. The current account deficit also remains a concern as Asia's third largest economy has seen exports fall due to weak demand in key markets like the US & Europe, while imports of gold & oil have remained high. The National Development Council (NDC) met in Delhi on Thursday where the draft of the 12th Five-Year Plan was tabled.
The S&P 500 has Negative this week’s on Thursday longest losing streak in three months as the federal government edged closer to the "fiscal cliff" with no solution in sight. The major indices showed this week a consolidate trend, with the Dow jones down nearly by 1.62 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 64.48 pts or 2.11 percent to end at 2985.91.The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas increased at US$ 108.71/barrel on this was higher than the price of US$ 106.66/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day.
