01. GALLERY Glass gallery exhibiting all scale glass work from artists is designed base on an idea of historic preservation. The giant void built for melting room now becomes a large gallery. While sunlight directly allowed gives the entire space lighting, it also emphasizes a space truss representing the charactoristic element of the first automatic glass factory in Thailand.
Preservation is simply having the good sense to hold on to things that have plenty of good use left in them. - Richard Moe

A HOUSE WITHOUT... Bangkok Commercial Asset Management Public Company Limited (BAM) has held the BAM PROPERTY DESIGN CONTEST for the third time. In this competition, the location for the project was a two-story house prepared for a working man and his elder. Because of most elder requiring a space that comfort, airy and receiving enough natural light, the concept design is the word ‘beside’ aligning all function of the entire programs along the edges of the house to get close to nature. Moreover, the openspace at center is flexible and supports the eldery wheelchair users.

‘CURTAINS’ VC FABRIC Co., Ltd, the leading fabric and soft furnishing supplier, has held VC YOUNG DESIGNER CONTEST 2018 giving chances to design students to participate in finding new design perspectives for materials like “curtains.” The contest’s 8th edition was held under the theme of My Style of Healthy Hub, which revolved around designing space for well being and health.General speaking, this healthy trend is somewhat ubiquitous nowadays, but what made this contest interesting is how it made the contestants integrate or apply curtains into the designs and combine the often semi-public space for health with the said material that serves mainly privacy purposes. The workshop was held on the 16th
of August through the 7th of September. It revolved around providing the interior design students from 10 universities with the background knowledge of using soft-furnishing materials in the work before giving them the opportunity to apply that knowledge into design work.

..INTO SEQUENCE OF SEA The main idea of the project is using the transparent quality of fabrics with different light shades and forms as the work’s main component. The different shades of colors are the core elements that were utilized to imply the transition area between the land and the sea.
The sequence of spaces have an affect on human perception and experience of place. Going to the sea, a beach is first space for visitors. The feeling of the fresh air and the wind blowing under the coconut tree are significant here. There for, the concept of the fish spa is a large open space with hammock.

Beach walking is the main concept of onsen area. The ground contour makes the sence of texture such as beach creatures and sand wave. Moreover, the different level of floor is also foot massage. An idea of reflect lighting is applied to show the dynamic of water surface.

Underneath the water, light penetration decreases with water depth. A group of sheer curtains, SMS163/01, FOR104/0 and FOR105/01 are select to overlap each others providing downlight filter and sence of cave texture. Some of them is dropped to the ground defining the personal space.
Deep ocean is the definition of sauna and steam room. At the bottom of the sea, there is quite a few sunlight. The darkness and mysteries are all around with the movement of dim light by creatures. To indicate that, the black sheer curtain, MIRA, is used to provide mood and tone. Moreover, the idea lighting the ROMANCE SHEER curtain with LED could give a shade movement that looks like deep ocean creatues.

Foam is a lightweight material with potential to create the dramatic architectural forms. The panels consisting of foam can be dislocated and re-installed easily in terms of transportation. In modular construction, prefabricated panels are overlapped each other. The steel pipes are used to provide compression and fiction to foam modules. A layer of resin is plastered on finishing for stability and durability of each eps foam panel.

“Shopping here is like trying to win a ball from LeBron James” - design statement
The first interior studio project started in the 3rd year program. The site located at Yelo House(Opposite MBK shopping mall), the old warehouse that has business potential to become a flagship store of the National Basketball Association(NBA), the most famous American men’s professional basketball league. The designer had been a huge fan and interesting in sports analysing that when comparing with other sports, a touch of NBA Basketball is the ‘moves’, the characteristic movement of each player on their positions that close to audiences. The experience of being a part of NBA game was concerned as the concept of this flagship store promoting the brand to be more well-known in Thailand. ‘How to give customers experience the feel of the game?’ To illustrate that, the product display area is designed with an inspiration of the basketball position and roles. ‘When customers try to pick up goods, it seems like they are trying to win a ball from the shelves.’ The forms of product displays indicate the moves of the ball dribbled with the players on each positions. All curves and parametrics provide a dynamic for the space. Polished wooden parquet is selected as a main
