What do
Academics are a priority at Walker’s, and unlike other schools who say they have five academic subjects (math, science, language arts, history and language), we have SIX! The arts are critical to all we do in the Middle School. Music, dance, theater, and especially the visual arts at Walker’s are vibrant, interactive programs where you will discover your inner artist. Play in the orchestra, sing in the choir, participate in drum circle. Make a bowl on the pottery wheel as a gift, or to donate to our Empty Bowls project. Star in the Middle School play or help design the colorful set.
Walker’s Middle School athletic program provides not only great training and competition, but FUN! Walker’s Middle School softball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and basketball teams all have great records and allow you to learn the sport but also to enjoy great team spirit. If you’re a rider or interested in learning to ride, Walker’s nationally recognized, championship program gives you every opportunity.

RESPECT and ACCEPTANCE are key to the Walker’s experience. Meanness and bullying are simply not tolerated by anyone. We don’t have to all be the same, and you will experience fun and friendship with
girls who are just like you – and who are different too. Plenty of group activities, and great traditions, like our Sun and Dial spirit groups, build a sense of community that is unlike any other.
Walker’s campus allows for learning inside and outside the classroom. The School’s technology allows for reaching out worldwide for learning, and Walker’s Woods, a 300-acre conservation area, provides a living classroom where your teacher might take you for an art project, a book discussion, or for a hike to study weather patterns or the chemistry of our water.
Walker’s is a place where girls discover their talents, explore new ideas, and build new skills.
