Things couldn’t go as planned for 2020, but our team is good at getting creative. So we’ve organized this virtual market to help you find some truly great gifts. WEST Winnipeg Etsy Street Team WEST is a volunteer based community of local Manitoban Etsy sellers who work cooperatively to support and promote our members. Through collaboration, the group organizes markets, workshops for business improvement, networking events, and promotes and supports Manitoba Etsy shop owners. We are pleased to be hosting our ďŹ rst ever virtual market! It’s going to be an adventure. Join us!

It really fit with my need for connecting with nature during our long winters in Winnipeg. It was natural to start selling them as I made them--helping connect others with the natural materials.”

Art Soap Life Shop Why did you start your Etsy shop? “I wanted to help others love their skin naturally with versatile products that are simple to use and made with ingredients that nourish your skin. I am also a very visual person, so clearly these products would be functional and beautiful. I incorporate my own artwork into the labels and packaging for a unique look and sell prints of my work alongside the skincare.”

Baby Bobbin Shop Shop Where do you make your items? “All of our items are handmade on our home sewing machines.”

How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? “It is a play on words - the fact that we sew all of our items (bobbin on a sewing machine) and that we make the majority of our items for babies.”

Favorite holiday tradition? “Each year I wrap up 24 books (new or used) for my kids and starting on December 1st, they get to take turns choosing one each night from under the tree. We have a lot of fun with it.”

Daisy Thirteen Shop Why did you start your Etsy shop? “All of our quote blocks are made from salvaged wood! While building our house, we wondered what happens to all of the off-cuts when a house is built, and this was the beginning of Daisy Thirteen. We’re proud to partner with local construction companies to collect their off-cuts so that they don’t end up in the landfill.”

The cuter the collar the quicker the pups were adopted! I was encouraged from friends and family to start my Etsy shop to share my LOVE of fabric and making collars with others.”

Everything Little Shop What’s your favorite medium to work with? “My favorite mediums to work with are wood and paints, but I also have a love of sewing with natural fibers and creating soft dolls as well.” Where do you make your items? “I make my items in my small workshop in my basement and at a table set up in my kitchen so I can be around my family while I work.” Favorite holiday tradition? “Doing Sinteklaas (a Dutch tradition) with my children on Dec. 5. Michiko Craft Shop Why did you start your Etsy shop? “When I realized that creating was something I HAD to do, not just liked to do! When I realized I was not fulfilled until I created. I'd wake up in the middle of the night with the desire to create. And so I did, and some of my best products and ideas have come to me in the middle of the night.”

Where do you make your items? “My home studio in my bedroom overlooks the beauty and nature that Wildwood Park has to offer. Pretty Plates Design Shop What’s your favorite medium to work with? “Fine bone china” What’s your favorite part of being an Etsy seller? “I love that it connects me to people all over the world who also love pretty plates.” Why did you start your Etsy shop? “I hosted a wedding shower for my daughter and didn’t have enough of my own heirloom china for each guest. So I spent time hunting for pretty plates in charity shops and found all kinds of mismatched china plates. During the above mentioned soirée I also discovered that when entertaining, space is at a premium so tiered stands are the perfect solution. After the shower I had all this mismatched china and so I did some research about how to drill holes in porcelain, bought a drill and my passion for rescuing
