“Out of all the hobbies I tried out during the pandemic, soap making was the one that stuck with me the most. I found it soothing and meditative to have something physically creative to focus on after work and the challenge of experimenting with different natural colorants and essential oils kept me engaged and pushed me further in the pursuit of soap mastery. I liked that soap could be anything I wanted it to be, whether that was a specific scent profile or tweaking the formula to make it more moisturizing or lathering, and especially that I could ensure that it was cruelty-free. Everyone wants to feel cleaner during a pandemic and this, along with my goal to contribute a percentage of my sales to charity, gave my hobby purpose.
