2020.... What a year.... to say the least! Wow, so many challenges. It was definitely a year of firsts.... distance learning, social distancing, and smiling behind the masks! But we made it to a new year! And I am excited to share with you this interactive HOPE issue of #GoOnGirls Magazine. It is my hope that working through the pages will help you process through some of the many emotions and thoughts that you may have had during last year. There is also space to set goals for this year! So grab your markers, some stickers, and magazines and enjoy working through the following pages. Making a plan for the future helps to inspire and sparks HOPE! And it is my hope that you will look forward to many wonderful days ahead.... in 2021!

What is Hope.......

Hope is believing for a certain outcome... especially positive... about events and circumstances in life. To have hope is to want an outcome that makes your life better in some way. It can not only make a rough time easier to bear but it can eventually make your life better because you can see a vision of a better future which motivates you to take steps to make it happen. Here are some ways that may help to be or stay hopeful:
Set goals and create a plan Goals not only help you envision something better it help you create a way to make it happen.

Make a gratitude list Listing all the things you are grateful for helps you have a positive state of mind.

Take action and be patient Be consistent, persistent and don't give up. Patience for the outcome gives you something to look forward to.

What is a Brain Dump?
It is when you take all of your thoughts and feelings and record them on paper. Use this page. Close your eyes for about a minute, then open them. Write down all of your thought and feelings. Do not worry about spelling or punctuation..
Now organize your thoughts into categories: fears, worries, things I need to do right now, things that can wait... and those "just thoughts" or ideas!
Goals
SETTING GOALS INSPIRE HOPE One way to create positive emotions and change your way of thinking is by setting goals for yourself. Setting and achieving goals cause you to feel positive emotions such as happiness, pride, and a sense of achievement. You may also experience a positive way of thinking as you begin to look forward to reaching your goals. So, what exactly is a goal? It is simply reaching a desired result. It is what you want to see happen for you... something you want to achieve! There are two parts of a goal... goal setting and goal planning. To set your goal is to decide “what” you want to achieve and write it down. Goal planning is the “how”. It is a step-by-step plan used to help you reach your goal. Both steps are equally important. Most goals are not reached because the goal is set but there Is no action plan to actually achieve it. So are you ready to create your plan of action?

CREATING A GOAL ACTION PLAN Think about a specific result you would like to achieve Write it out as a goal and set a timeline for when you want to havethe goal complete Write down an action that you can take daily to help you reach the results that you want Tell someone about your goal. Another way to help accomplish your goal is by creating a vision board. A vision board helps you keep your desired results in sight so that you can remember to take action daily. Creating a vision board can be fun and exciting. It can also inspire you to take the necessary steps to achieve your goal. You get to be creative... using pictures, encouraging words, stickers, and anything else that will make your board eye-catching. Have fun creating your board and remember its purpose is to be a reminder of the result you looking to achieve. Items Needed to Make your Vision Board: You can use the two pages included in the magazine or a poster board. Magazines for pictures, words, and phrases. Scissors Glue stick or tape Pens and marker Stickers Remember, seeing your goal regularly with pictures and encouraging words helps to remind you of what you want to do! Make sure to place your vision board in a space where you can see it every day!

This project is to give a voice to the many talents of girls.... it is a house for the creative, the artist, the storyteller, the athlete, the dreamer, the community servant and the entrepreneur to share their gift! By signing up, you will receive information about the magazine release dates and how you may nominate a girl to be a feature or contributor for the magazine. How would you like to be a part of the #GoOnGirls Magazine? Contributor: Contribute by submitting  a sample of your work for review. This could be artwork, photography, short stories, poetry... any creative work! Feature Story Nominee: Do you know of a girl doing great things in and around her community, school or home.
