The Process How to prepare Types of Sessions Product and pricing

2016

A little note: Thank you in advance for reaching out and wanting to know more about The Eye’s the Limit and the process of hiring a professional photographer. I am a college educated and accredited photographer by the Professional Photographers of Ontario. I am also a parent of two highenergy and adventurous boys who are my heart. My ability to work with children is praised by my clients and I am experienced in working with young spirts with special needs. My passion is creating images of families and the love they have for each other in a relaxed and playful manner. During your session I compose traditional portraits but also encourage a little family chaos as every moment is truly precious no matter what emotion is surrounding it. The importance of documenting your children and yourselves is one that will never cease. Every image of you and your family will be cherished along the journey of life not only by you but by your children and your children’s children. The confidence and pride your child will have by seeing themselves lovingly displayed in portraits amongst your home is often overlooked. These portraits are a constant reminder of the connection, love and joy that makes your family special. The investment of hiring a professional is one that is truly priceless, and I believe that fact should be kept in your heart at every moment of our time together. P.S. Pets are family too!

The Process: BEFORE YOUR SESSION Upon contact I like to ask a few questions to get to know your family and to get an idea of what makes your family special. We will set a time and date for your session and choose a location. I always suggest choosing a place that is personal to your family in some way like a favourite park, beach, family farm or your very own backyard. A deposit required to confirm your session appointment. Please see pricing for more information. DURING YOUR SESSION I run a pretty easy going and relaxed session overall as I know the effort and stress that goes into planning outfits and ensuring everyone remains clean upon arrival. I aim to keep the energy of the session positive and fun. Kids and grown-ups alike adore the length I go to get genuine smiles and I have lots of tricks in regards evoking all levels of emotion. Generally, I do two or three full family set ups as we go from one spot to another at our chosen location and also create images of individuals and siblings and those candid in between moments that show a more personal side. AFTER YOUR SESSION Expect your proofing gallery to be ready within 7 business days of your session. These images will have very basic edits done and will not represent the final look of your images as I only do full editing to imagery that is purchased. I encourage a one on one ordering session either in person or via online. At that time your deposit of $150 will be put towards any collections or À la Carte Menu items you would like. PLACING ORDERS An order form will be emailed which you can use to purchase products. All orders are required to be paid in full before processing. Depending on the size of your order, expect a minimum of 2 weeks from the point you submit your order form to the point your products to be ready for pick up from the studio. After that all that’s left is to hang your frames and enjoy your memories!

Types of Sessions: FAMILY SESSIONS: During your family session I will create traditional posed portraits but also incorporate lifestyle images during your session that capture candid moments between you and your family. Your session gallery will consist of images of the whole group and different sub groupings like siblings together and individual portraits. I also offer extended family portraits sessions for larger groups. CHILD PORTRAIT SESSIONS: These sessions are just your child(ren) where the focus is on them and are often booked to mark a special milestone like a birthday, communion, or just to freeze time. COUPLES AND ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS: Focusing on you and your love we come up with a location special to you and I often encourage some fun and playful images featuring something you love to do as a couple. This could be as simple as walking your dog, throwing a football or getting an ice cream.

Other Sessions For the above types of sessions I do not charge a session fee however below are a few types of work that I do require a commission for. WHIMSICAL PORTRAITS: I love creating imaginative images of children and want to offer the opportunity for my clients to commission me to create whimsical themed images of their children. Commissions start at $350 and include one 16x20 canvas Gallery wrap or Framed print. EVENTS All events are commissioned at $250 per hour which includes USB of digital files for personal printing usage. I offer coverage for corporate parties, religious rites of passage, birthday parties etc.. NEWBORN & MATERNITY: I do offer newborn maternity and baby photography however I do so under a different brand that has different pricing all together. How to prepare: WHAT TO WEAR Wardrobe is key to ensuring your images look polished. From the sweet little bow on your child’s head to the sweet little bow on their shoe every detail should be thought about carefully. Picking a colour pallet that flatters your skin tones is the easiest way to start to build your session wardrobe. You can reference my Pinterest account: theeyesthelimit for great wardrobe ideas on what and what not to wear. I do strongly suggest not wearing shirts with wording or logos or florescent or bright coloured clothing. RELAX! YOU’RE IN GOOD HANDS To most children I am incredibly funny and I have very little trouble turning that “cheese face” into a real smile but let’s be honest here... If you have a little one under the age of 10 chances are, as you franticly try to get everyone ready to go, you will say something to effect of “if you’re a good listener today we will (insert bribe here)” I am all for encouraging good behaviour by whatever means possible but do ask that all treats are left to the end of your session. I usually have a little something special for those good listeners too. The reality is that the kids are running the show and it’s up to us as a collective to ensure they are having an enjoyable time which often means they get some freedom to roam between set ups. This also allows for some fun connection images so don’t hesitate to join in their adventuring. It’s important that we keep all directions positive and encouraging to keep the mood happy while we work towards creating your amazing portraits. I understand how hard that can be at times, but please know that you’re not alone and you have support as I have more than 8 years experience photographing families from every tree. As a Mom myself, I am often found Ringing Around the Rosie at playgroups. Before I was a photographer I was a childcare provider and I truly love getting down to their level and encouraging their imaginations. I am also a people person with a gift to gab and love getting to know my clients during their session and find that I can relate to everyone I meet with ease.

The Eye’s the Limit does not charge a session fee however I do have a minimum product purchase requirement of $150 that must be prepaid by clients before your session. Events such as mini sessions, birthday’s, baptisms, weddings, etc. are priced differently please inquire for rates.
