TLK GLUTEN FREE ASIAN RESTAURANT

TLK

Delicious Gluten free Asian food

Just opened in the East Village, TLK originally launched during the pandemic as delivery-only Tiger Lily Kitchen, offering healthconscious gluten free Asian cooking for vegans and omnivores alike (with fish and chicken options). Hospitality veteran Michelle Morgan, formerly of Paris Café, Beauty & Essex, Ulysses and Stanton Social, started Tiger Lily Kitchen after the restaurant she was managing closed permanently during the pandemic. The concept proved so popular that Michelle now opened a brick and mortar restaurant with a full liquor license and new name to reflect the evolution.

Inspired by her Hong Kong born mother’s vegetarian cooking and growing up in NYC’s Chinatown eating a diverse range of Asian cuisines, Michelle developed recipes that are vibrant, healthy, full of flavor and 100% gluten free – most are also vegan – together with consulting chef Russell Cowen (Jungle Bird). Among our favorites plates on the menu: vegan Crudo of fish or coconut meat with jalapeno, hibiscus; Charred Octopus with yuzuginger romesco sauce; Spicy Grilled Japanese Eggplant with birds eye chili, tamarind, crispy shallots; Grilled Lemongrass Wings (chicken) with sambal, sesame, chilies; and crispy Organic Tofu Bites with sambal dipping sauce. (All ingredients come from gluten free facilities so it’s safe for anyone with celiac disease.)

TLK 58 3rd Ave, NYC

Special thanks to Michelle, owner, and her team for the food truly made with love and the very friendly, familystyle service.
