Sight Unseen Program

It is our hope that all of you interested in our genetics can make the trip to evaluate the bulls in person. If you cannot get away for our sale we offer an effective alternative, the . To take advantage of this option, give us a call. We will help you select your bulls as well as act as your agent. In past years we’ve handled orders for about 15-20 percent of the bulls in the sale with our . In only a few cases did I have to use the buyer’s top bid price to purchase their bull and only just a few have gone unfilled.

There are two principles we follow concerning the Sight Unseen Program:

1) Your bull(s) will be purchased with the actual flow of the auction.

2) Free delivery, volume discounts and our 100% guarantee all apply to the Sight Unseen Program.

Delivery

Bulls will be delivered within 250 miles starting April 21st, 2023. Deliveries over 250 miles will be delivered to a central location where we will coordinate with the buyers for pick up.

Volume Buying // Pen Wrap Procedure

The bulls will sell in sire groups. We have lotted these bulls in uniform groups from two to seven head per pen. Pens may not be wrapped until the sale is made. The winning bidder can buy any combination he chooses from the pen, or the entire pen by choosing the pen wrap.

A graduated percentage will be discounted from each bull purchased in volume for example; buyer #21 chose to wrap a three head pen, he deducts 1% from the first bull, 2% from the second and 3% from the third and so on. It is our intent to allow all of the buyers the opportunity to purchase any bull in the sale. The winning bid has control to purchase any portion of or all bulls in a pen.

Bidding Disputes

The Auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on such matters shall be final.

Terms

The terms of the sale are cash or check, with proper ID, the right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements will be made with the clerks of the sale immediately following the conclusion of the sale and before any cattle will be released from the facility.

Announcements

Changes of information contained in this catalog relating to the animals offered for the sale will be announced from the auction block and such announcements shall take precedence. Errors discovered in the catalog will be corrected by announcements at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over printed matter in this catalog.

All bulls sell unconditionally guaranteed to be free of all defects, and have been tested when necessary.

Fertility

The bulls will be fertility tested in April. If a sale bull does not pass a soundness or semen test and a bull of equal value is available to replace the sale bull that will be the process. If a bull is not available or suitable, the customer will be refunded. Dr. Terry hall provides a semen certificate which will accompany paperwork.

Epds

The Composites and Hybrids are assigned estimated EPDs by our in house calculations and then adjusted to compare with the AAA for your convenience.

Guarantee

Poppe Cattle Company stands behind the bulls.

We guarantee these bulls through the first breeding season or September 15, whichever comes first. These bulls have been tested and developed to be sound breeders, with genetic lead time. If a bull proves to be unsound (a veterinarian’s evaluation is required for our records) - we have three options for warranty:

• replace your bull with an equal valued bull if available

• credit the buyer with the original purchase price

• refund in the event of death loss – or refund the difference between salvage and the original price paid.

• in the event of a neglected virus or infection the guarantee is voided.

Share Semen Interest Revenue

We are selling revenue sharing and semen interest on all bulls. The bull is totally in your control and you get all the salvage value. In general, we retain the right to a share of semen sales revenue from the bull if at some time in the future semen sales become a possibility. If you sell the bull to another breeder, Poppe Cattle Company retains semen interest.

It’s unlikely that large amounts of semen will be sold from many bulls. The reason we are retaining interest in all the bulls is that a bull may be discovered later, after proving themselves. Bulls sold commercially may become popular at a later time, especially as carcass data is collected on their calves. If you purchase a bull and choose to collect semen for your in herd use, as an insurance policy, that semen is 100% yours. Poppe Cattle Company may decide to collect the bull for our in herd use or to build a jointly owned semen bank for sale purposes.

If you are not interested in collecting semen on the bull, Poppe Cattle Company retains the right to collect the bull for our own use, and in this case we will pay all collection and transporting expenses. Semen collection will be implemented at the convenience of the possession interest.

We are selling 2/3 semen interest and full possession and salvage on all bulls selling in this catalog.
