Finding Your Voice is published by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE). Founded in 1999, FIRE is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to defending student and faculty rights nationwide. FIRE was founded to defend the rights of college students and faculty, but we believe it is essential that students understand the principles of free speech before making the decision to go to college. We were inspired to create this volume by our desire to spark discussion of these issues among pre-college students. If you are a high school student or teacher interested in learning more about FIRE’s work, we encourage you to contact us at highschooloutreach@thefire.org.
