PGA TOUR Superstore (PGATSS) is a national partner of First Tee and, locally, First Tee-Greater Washington, DC has built a tremendous relationship with both the Fairfax and Rockville store managers and staff. This past year, PGA TOUR Superstore/Fairfax hosted its inaugural First Tee Leadership Series for 12 Chapter participants. This is an empowering six-week program designed to provide teens the opportunity to build relationships with PGATSS leadership, uncover their leadership values and strengths, identify potential careers and develop goals to attain their desired career path. PGATSS Fairfax and Rockville locations also hosted First Tee-Greater Washington, DC winter leagues and conducted an equipment donation drive. PARENT PERSPECTIVE

"The First Tee coaching staff has helped develop my son’s golf skills preparing him to play Varsity golf at Charles Flowers High School, and become the only freshman boy in Prince George's County to play at the 2023 State Finals, while also maintaining a. 4.1 GPA in the Science & Tech Program. First Tee has taught him to give back by volunteering in community events and has helped cultivate his leadership skills by selecting him to serve on the Junior Advisory Board. He has developed a strong work ethic as a caddie at two prestigious country clubs. With the First Tee developmental path as a guide, Adriathan is a community activist with his own nonprofit serving the community. I am very thankful and appreciative of the programs and opportunities that have been available to him at First TeeGreater Washington, DC."

PARTICIPANT PERSPECTIVE

"Because of the First Tee I am unique. I learned to become my own person through the life skills taught to me at First Tee classes. Every single core value helped shape not only my personality but also the person I have become. When I was younger, I struggled with confidence. I found it hard to make friends and fit in with others. I lacked the confidence needed to put myself in uncomfortable situations, which continued for years. However, every single First Tee class I attended helped me gain more of the confidence I was lacking. The classes helped me to put myself out there and be more true to myself."
