VENTUS 4.0 IS AN AMBASSADOR TO THE ALPINE WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS – CORTINA 2021 THE LEITNER GROUP IS A PARTNER TO THE CORTINA 2021 FOUNDATION AND THE “TECHNICAL SUPPLIER” THROUGHOUT THE ALPINE WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021. A DEMACLENKO VENTUS 4.0 HAS BEEN IN USE THERE SINCE LAST SEASON, WITH A PARTICULAR BRAND STRATEGY, WHICH ON THE ONE HAND GUARANTEES SNOW ON THE SLOPES OF COL DRUSCIÉ, AND ON THE OTHER HAND ACTS AS AN AMBASSADOR FOR THE HIGHEST QUALITY. In December, it became official: the Cortina 2021 Foundation has concluded a strategic partnership with the triad in the winter technology sector, LEITNER ropeways, PRINOTH and DEMACLENKO, for the World Ski Championships in two years. DEMACLENKO’s VENTUS 4.0 perfectly sums up the pioneering technology and high-quality design for which the three companies of the LEITNER Group stand. The snow gun is a

real revolution on the snowmaking market. Equipped with a Wi-Fi based operating system developed with the most advanced technology, the machine makes it possible to produce snow silently, taking into account of the peace and quiet expected in the mountains. What is particularly conspicuous is the special branding of the machine, exhibited in mid-December when the partnership was announced in the historical centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo, impressing the audience. Since then, the machine has been providing perfect snow on the slopes of the Col Druscié, managed by the company Tofana Freccia nel Cielo, where the slalom runs of the Italian Championships were organized in March.
Valerio Giacobbi, CEO of the Cortina 2021 Foundation, emphasizes, “We are delighted to count brands such as DEMACLENKO among our partners. We share the same visions as the LEITNER Group, oriented around the future and innovation, always with the greatest respect for the environment in which we work. I am certain that thanks to our collaborative efforts, our slopes will be perceived and recognized by people as very well groomed pistes of the highest quality.““
On the „Col Druscié A“ slope, which is completely equipped with DEMACLENKO snow guns, the slalom disciplines will be held at the 2021 World Ski Championships.
SNOWVISUAL 4.0: INNOVATIVE, FLAWLESS SNOW MANAGEMENT HAVING AN OVERVIEW OF THE ENTIRE SNOWMAKING SYSTEM AT A SINGLE GLANCE: THIS IS WHAT SNOWVISUAL 4.0, DEMACLENKO’S FULLY AUTOMATED OPERATING SOFTWARE STANDS FOR. THANKS TO CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION, IT IS A UNIQUE TOOL FOR SNOW AND SLOPE MANAGEMENT IN WINTER RESORTS AND WILL BE AT THE INTERALPIN TRADE FAIR WITH FURTHER INNOVATIONS. With Snowvisual 4.0, DEMACLENKO offers ski resorts the most effective tool for the fully automatic operation of snowmaking systems. All the snowmaking system’s data and components are accessible via a single, intuitive platform, delivering detailed reports and statistics to optimize snowmaking processes. Other helpful functions such as measuring the depth of the snow show precisely which sections of which slopes require further snow. The software guarantees maximum compatibility and bundles all elements which are relevant for snowmaking together in a single powerful and compact system.
ECONOMICAL, SUSTAINABLE AND EFFICIENT USE OF RESOURCES Digitalization has an enormous potential, particularly for ecological aspects of technical snowmaking. That is why DEMACLENKO is con-

sistently working on improving the sustainability of its products and solutions. The resource management of Snowvisual 4.0, which is at the cutting edge of technology, plays a role by optimally regulating and monitoring the use of available raw materials. For instance, when managing water, the software monitors how much water is effectively available for snowmaking before it activates the snowmaking system. As a result, the capacity of the pumping station and the number of snow guns being used is automatically adapted in order to get the best possible results with maximal efficiency. Further undreamt of prospects are being opened up by power management, which monitors the performance of the snowmaking system precisely. Measures for smoothing power consumption help to reduce short-term electricity peaks, thereby saving costs and energy. The development is even moving towards a power management system that covers entire areas, monitoring consumption on the mountain and regulating it through priority management. Here, customers benefit from the bundled capabilities of the LEITNER group, which also offers the latest generation in complete packages and cross-cutting solutions for ropeways and snow groomers that integrate the entire group.
DIGITAL EXTENSIONS: METEO-APP AND SKIFLOW TWO NEW HELPFUL TOOLS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE DEMACLENKO’S DIGITAL PRODUCT RANGE AND ARE SHORTLY AVAILABLE, OFFERING SKI RESORT OPERATORS ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES FOR DAILY SKI OPERATIONS.
METEO-APP: PREDICTING AND MAKING OPTIMAL USE OF WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY FOR SNOW
The new Meteo-app also factors in uncertainties in the general weather forecast and presents them on a graph. This makes it possible to calculate the possibilities for making snow over the following ten days reliably.
The ability to plan snowmaking processes with precision is becoming increasingly important with forever shorter windows of opportunity for snow. New standards are being set by the innovative Meteo-app developed within the HTI group. Snow guns’ records of present and historic temperatures and humidity are combined with general meteorological models. What is decisive is that the probability of the wet-bulb temperature for the following ten days appears, making it possible to determine the window of opportunity for snow with precision. This method factors in uncertainties in the general weather forecast, which is why it is the most reliable source on the market for planning snow.
SKIFLOW: MONITORING SLOPE USE IN REAL TIME Do you want to know how many people are on the slopes at any time of day? SkiFlow makes it possible. This system of sensors developed by DEMACLENKO, linked with Snowvisual and which can for instance be directly built into the snow gun or weather station, counts the visitors as they ski by and shows the slope use in real time. This leads to several advantages:
1. SAFETY ON THE MOUNTAIN: monitoring the use and overcapacity of the slopes as well as checking whether people are on the runs around the clock. 2. PLANNING AND OPTIMIZING SLOPE GROOMING: Identifying the segments of the slopes that have been used the most in the course of the day at a glance. 3. HELP IN DECIDING WHERE TO INVEST: Determining the most popular slopes and optimizing your offer as a consequence. 4. ADDED VALUE FOR VISITORS: Making use of the data on the outside to give visitors an overview of the slopes which are more or less frequented by way of an app.

VENTUS 4.0 and TITAN 2.0 fan guns on the slopes. “A particular advantage is the low amount of air the EOS lances use – it’s the lowest on the market. This guarantees that operations will be low on energy consumption and good on the environment,” Dabhere was pleased to point out. Water for the snow comes from the new reservoir and is delivered to the snow guns through three pumps with a total delivery rate of 3960 US gpm. 116 pits and 7,8 miles of infrastructure complete the network, guaranteeing snow production of a total of 87 acres within 30 hours. Thanks to fully automated operations through the futuristic visualization software program Snowvisual 4.0, windows of opportunity for snow can be used optimally and resources can be used more efficiently to save costs. “Snowvisual 4.0 is very intuitive and simple to operate. All the necessary data and analyses for operating the snowmaking are easily accessible”, Dhabere sums up his satisfying experience. “The automatic starting up or shutdown makes it possible to make optimal use of the best weather windows with cold temperatures for snowmaking.”
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER DAY IN MARIA ALM DEMACLENKO SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENTED ONE OF ITS BIGGEST PROJECTS OF LAST YEAR IN MARIA ALM ON THE HOCHKÖNIG MOUNTAIN IN AUSTRIA. AFTER LAUNCHING OPERATIONS SO THAT THE SEASON COULD GET OFF TO A GOOD START ON TIME, THE SYSTEM WAS OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED IN THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY. IN MARCH, MARIA ALM HOSTED THIS YEAR’S DEMACLENKO’S CUSTOMER DAYS WITH MORE THAN 100 PARTICIPANTS. A new pumping station on the Natrun including a cooling system, 61 concrete pits and 128 new snow guns comprise the major project carried out by DEMACLENKO in Maria Alm in 2018. At the official inauguration at the beginning of the year, Andreas Dorfmann, DEMACLENKO’s CEO thanked Hartwig Mosshammer, president of the board at Aberg-Hinterthal Bergbahnen AG for his trust with a miniature woodcarving of a snow gun. The highly modern plant was moreover the venue for DEMACLENKO’s customer days this year, leaving a lasting impression on the 100 participants, who were able to convince themselves of the quality of the slopes and snow by going skiing for a day. Moreover, visitors also viewed the snow guns – 89 EOS and 39 TITAN 3.0 – and the new main pump station on the Natrun with a total delivery rate of 5700 US gpm per second. CROSS-COUNTRY TECHNICAL SNOWMAKING SYSTEMS ON THE RISE TECHNICAL SNOWMAKING HAS BECOME AS NEEDED FOR CROSS-COUNTRY AS FOR DOWNHILL SKIING. THIS CAN BE SEEN IN THE MANY PROJECTS DEMACLENKO HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTING IN THE SECTOR. MAJOR EVENTS ARE RELYING ON THE TAILOR-MADE SOLUTIONS OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL LEADER. Cross-country skiing has been gaining in popularity in recent years. To respond to growing demand, operators are continuously investing in extending their cross-country ski trails. DEMACLENKO has proved to be a reliable and professional partner, offering well-designed products. Because cross-country ski trails often are to be found near residential areas, silent snow production is of the essence. That is why we constantly work on noise reduction, which is particularly conspicuous with TITAN 3.0 Silent and VENTUS 4.0. Last but not least, DEMACLENKO has been a noted partner for sporting events. DEMACLENKO, which was used in the Nordic World Ski Championship in the Olympiaregion Seefeld, Austria, in 2019, will also be providing optimal snow conditions in Oberstdorf, the venue for the upcoming world championship. DEMACLENKO has received a big order from Oberstdorf, a centre for sports, to extend and modernize the snowmaking system, specifically in the fields of the overall system, the electrics and snow technology.
CROSS-COUNTRY
12
The annual Marcialonga di Fiemme e Fassa in the Dolomites, a cross-country marathon and one of the 16 runs in the Worldloppet Ski Federation’s series of cross-country events, is well known to all. Participants are expected to ski 43.5 miles of runs groomed by DEMACLENKO snow guns. In Lama Mocogno, a popular cross-country ski centre in the Emilia Romagna, an important project for the cross-country ski trail is being implemented in 2019 to guarantee snow for the many events in this increasingly popular sport. In Switzerland, there is a long network of runs with many variations around St. Moritz in the Engadin. The cross-country ski trail operators at St. Moritz, Silvaplana, Sils, Bever and Celerina also count on DEMACLENKO’s know-how, using snow guns, pump stations and mobile pumps and the operating software Snowvisual 4.0. Further projects were carried out with the cross-country trail and the biathlon arena in Lenzerheide.
YESTERDAY’S SNOW FOR TOMORROW’S SUCCESS THIS RECIPE FOR SUCCESS HAS BEEN UNIQUE IN THE ALPS: IN DAVOS, THE ADVANTAGES OF DEMACLENKO’S SNOWMAKING SYSTEM HAVE BEEN SUSTAINABLY LINKED TO THE PRINCIPLE OF SNOW FARMING. THIS HAS LED TO A FULLY DEVELOPED AND SUSTAINABLE SNOW MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH GUARANTEED SUCCESS. In Davos, cross-country ski enthusiasts and the national team are able to enjoy a 2.5-miles-long cross-country ski trail from as early as October of every year. The basis for this is the previous year’s snow, which survives the summer under a 1.3-feet-thick coat of sawdust. The snow is produced by DEMACLENKO snow guns, which stand for maximum production and the optimal use of energy. “In 2008, we carried out the first attempt to keep technologically produced snow for a whole summer”, Norbert Gruber, the head of technological operations in Davos reports. Since then, there has been continuous fine-tuning on implementation and processes. Now, every autumn, roughly 80% of the original snow cover is available for skiing.
SNOWFARMING
13
This also means optimal use of the potential for technical snowmaking, while placing confidence in DEMACLENKO’s solutions. A total of fourteen snow guns are available for the entire cross-country ski trail. 28 hydrants have been strategically positioned along the ski trail to ensure snow coverage all along the trail. At present, two pumping stations with feed the machines water, and next season there will be an additional station. The smooth operation and monitoring of the network are guaranteed by the visualization software Snowvisual. Some of the machines are being directly used in the snow farming system. “We make sure that we produce snow for snow farming on the coldest days, when energy costs are at their lowest. This compensates for the 20 percent loss over the summer, which means that we have snow for the cross-country ski trail as early as October”, Gruber explains, adding, “That makes the whole system advantageous from both an economic and an ecological perspective.” Success has proved how right he is, because yesterday’s snow in Davos is also tomorrow’s snow.
LEITNER GROUP PRESENTS THE SMARTEST SOFTWARE PACKAGE IN THE SECTOR IN BELLAMONTE USING INTELLIGENT SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS FOR ROPEWAYS, GROOMERS AND SNOWMAKING SYSTEMS IS INCREASINGLY SEEN AS A DECISIVE FACTOR IN RUNNING A SKI RESORT ECONOMICALLY. LEITNER ROPEWAYS, PRINOTH AND DEMACLENKO HAVE MADE MASSIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL OFFERS AND PROVIDE THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE PACKAGE IN THE FIELD. OUR ITALIAN CUSTOMERS WERE ABLE TO GET A GOOD IDEA OF IT AT A COMPANY EVENT PUT ON IN BELLAMONTE, ITALY.
LEITNER GROUP
14
In the beginning of February, LEITNER ropeways, PRINOTH and DEMACLENKO invited their customers to an event to spread information on their latest digital offers. They didn’t have to give a lot of thought to the venue: Bellamonte in Val di Fiemme is the first ski resort in Italy to make use of the fully automated complete package of our state-of-the-art software programs. LEITNER ropeways introduced its operating system for the easier operation of ropeways. It was thus possible to present complex working processes simply, to
For the event’s hosts in Bellamonte, President Luca Guadagnini and Director Denis Lauton, the meeting was also an expression of successful collaboration with LEITNER ropeways, PRINOTH and DEMACLENKO. “Our company has always been at the forefront of technological innovation. That is why we are delighted to have made the best choices in our ambitious process of renewal in 2016. The triad of companies have convinced us with their efficient and environmentally sustainable technologies. They are among the world’s market leaders and provide quality with Italian design. Besides, it’s great for our operations that we only have a single contact point for the administration of the technical infrastructure.”
avoid operating errors and carry out operations using a single monitor. Central information on the general status of the system, wind conditions, speed and braking functions can also be found using a smartphone app. The snow groomer manufacturer PRINOTH has developed an innovative software package around its product, which especially aims at working efficiently while sparing resources. At the heart of the presentation in Bellamonte was the three-dimensional measurement of snow depth developed by Leica Geosystem and the fleet management software system with real time monitoring of the snow grooming. A simple and intuitive operating system makes it possible to see relevant information such as snow movement, snow groomer efficiency during routes, fuel consumption, breaks etc. directly on the screen. Digitalization is also playing a decisive role in technical snowmaking. DEMACLENKO responded to this need with its software Snowvisual 4.0, which allows

for fully automated operations and control of snowmaking systems from a smartphone or tablet. This makes it possible to get the most out of windows of opportunities for snow while using resources efficiently and reducing costs. As soon as the operating conditions have been reached for snowmaking, the Snowvisual 4.0 software program turns on the snowmaking system automatically.

SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN: EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS IN 2018, THE MANAGEMENT AT SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN RESORT, A MEMBER OF ALTERRA MOUNTAIN COMPANY, REINFORCED ITS SNOWMAKING NETWORK WITH 78 FULLY AUTOMATED DEMACLENKO FAN GUNS. THEIR CHOICE WAS TITAN, THE HIGHEST PERFORMING SNOW GUN ON THE MARKET, WHICH ALSO OFFERS MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE EVEN AT MARGINAL TEMPERATURES. THANKS TO THE CONTROL SOFTWARE, SNOWVISUAL 4.0 THE SNOW PRODUCTION WAS INCREASED BY 20%, THE ELECTRIC COSTS DECREASED BY 15%. 78 DEMACLENKO TITAN fan guns have been ensuring white slopes of the highest class in the ski resort of Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia. A total of roughly four million dollars was invested in the modernization and extension of the snowmaking system and snow groomers. The new equipment made it possible to open the slopes as early as the beginning of December, and thanks to the system, guests can count on absolutely guaranteed snow. “The TITAN snow guns exceeded our expectations in snow production through the entire operating range, not just in quantity but also the superior quality of the snow being produced along the temperature curve”, says Ty Tegtmeyer, snowmaking manager of Snowshoe Mountain Resort. The revamped snowmaking system also made it possible to reduce energy costs and consumption substantially: “With the installation of the Snowvisual control system and 78 fully automated TITANS we have increased production by 20% and cut our electric costs by 15%”, affirms Tegtmeyer. As soon as the operating conditions for making snow exist, Snowvisual triggers the snowmaking system automatically at the drop of a hat. Tegtmeyer continues: “The system’s automation capabilities have allowed us to re-allocate much of our snowmaking labor resources elsewhere on the trail system. That has enabled us to open more terrain earlier in the season and sped up the resurfacing process during thaw/freeze cycles.” The digital efficiency package also impressed the team because it was so easy to operate, even by smartphones and tablet computer. The system evaluates the data that have been collected, delivers detailed diagrams and statistics. “The Snowvisual software is very intuitive for our first-time operators, while also having impressive depth to the program with very useful tools for measuring cost and production”, Tegtmeyer concludes. The success in Snowshoe Mountain is a confirmation of the excellent work DEMACLENKO has been doing in the United States, opening up new prospects for further large-scale projects.

DEMACLENKO IN KAPPL: “BLUE” SNOWMAKING OUT OF CONVICTION BERGBAHNEN KAPPL DRASTICALLY INCREASED THEIR INVESTMENT IN EQUIPMENT LAST SEASON WITH 52 SNOW GUNS AND A PUMP STATION. AFTER INTENSIVE TESTING, THEY DECIDED TO PUT THEIR MONEY ON “BLUE” – I.E. FOR DEMACLENKO. The ski resort of Kappl in the Paznaun valley in the Austrian Tyrol enjoys the sunshine of its southern exposure. That is why reinforced snowmaking for the slopes is at the center of the company’s strategy. So they have invested in 42 snow lances and ten fan guns, all from DEMACLENKO, along with more than 6.2 miles of field pipelines and a new pump station in the last two years. Next year they intend to build a second reservoir. “At the heart of our snowmaking offensive is the new pump station near the existing reservoir”, Andreas Kleinheinz, manager of Bergbahnen Kappl AG reports. Before then, the pumping station was built into the mountain station of “Diasbahn. “In the new pumping station, two existing pumps, which will have been moved, will work together with three new pumps to deliver 4800 US gpm”, Gebard Juen, operating manager at Bergbahnen Kappl explains. He and his team have worked together with DEMACLENKO to design the system to allow space for three additional pumps in the future. They have been provided for the second reservoir,

for which the pipes have already been laid. In the building, there are five pumps, three pre-pumps and two backwash filters to pump the snow water for more than 1800 feet in altitude. The pumping station is operated using DEMACLENKO’s software program Snowvisual 4.0. “The program is user-friendly and simple to operate”, Juen, the operation manager says enthusiastically. In Kappl, Snowvisual also has access to the valve station and the pressure booster. A big investment was also made in snow guns – 42 EOS snow lances and a total of ten TITAN and EVO fan guns, along with 61 pits. The project was preceded by extensive testing of snowmaking systems from various manufacturers. For the Board and the technicians of Bergbahnen Kappl, DEMACLENKO was the most convincing provider, which is why DEMACLENKO was awarded the contract for the complete project.
Andreas Kleinheinz, the manager at Bergbahnen Kappl AG: “We chose DEMACLENKO less for their good value for money than out of our heartfelt conviction regarding quality. We carried out intensive testing for direct comparisons of snow guns from various manufacturers with our existing machines. Whether in terms of efficiency, range, consumption or snow quality – overall the EOS snow lances and the Titan fan guns got the best results!”

FUNIVIE DEL BOÈ: TECHNICAL SNOWMAKING IS FUNDAMENTAL DEMACLENKO IS PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO LOOK BACK ON A LONGSTANDING PARTNERSHIP WITH FUNIVIE DEL BOÈ IN CORVARA. OVER THE YEARS, THE SNOWMAKING SYSTEM HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY EXTENDED AND OPTIMIZED. IN AN INTERVIEW WITH THE MANAGER, RAIMUND IRSARA, WE HAVE LEARNED WHAT HE PARTICULARLY LIKES ABOUT THE DEMACLENKO BRAND. The company Funivie del Boè is one of five skiing areas in the Ski Carosello Corvara resort in Alta Badia. Every year, perfectly groomed slopes await numerous visitors, guaranteeing an unforgettable winter experience. “Nowadays, technical snowmaking is fundamental and just as important, for instance, as the ski runs”, explains Raimund Irsara, the manager at Funivie del Boè. “We particularly need technical snow to get the season off to a punctual start. That is why we start basic snowing in the beginning of November, as soon as we see the first windows of opportunity for snow. The most important raw material is water, so efficient machines are needed in order not to waste this precious resource”, Irsara emphasizes. That is why a well-conceived total solution is decisive for a snowmaking system. “Up to now, we have had excellent experiences with DEMACLENKO. The company is a key player on the market and the product range covers all the requirements of modern snowmaking technology. That is why we have been relying on the brand for many years”, Irsara explains.
PROJECTS 2018

In the past two years, the infrastructure has been extensively expanded. Alongside the extension of the Planac pump station, the Hubertus pump station has been newly built as well as three valve pits and eleven pits. To reinforce the snowmaking network, several tower fans have been installed. A further central aspect is the digitalization of snowmaking. While it used to be necessary to set each machine manually, today the machines are set smoothly and centrally via the operating software. In 2019, new investments will be made at Funivie del Boè. “This year, the Vallon pumping station will be extended and the reservoir will be enlarged”, Irsara reports. “DEMACLENKO’s project and construction management have always been professional and reliable. That is why we will continue to rely on the company with the greatest confidence.” And DEMACLENKO is also looking forward to many more years of constructive cooperation.
Raimund Irsara, manager at Funivie del Boè: “The automation has not replaced employees but has made their work much easier and helped to optimize processes. Snowvisual, DEMACLENKO’s operating software, fulfils all the prerequisites for fully automatic, user-friendly operation. You get an overview of the entire snowmaking network at a glance and get detailed analyses.”

SNOWMAKING FOR SCHÖNECK
NOTSCHREI: IDEAL FOR FAMILIES
The officially certified resort, Schöneck is in the natural park of the German Ore Mountains and is one of the most popular tourist regions in the upper Vogtland. The special equipment of the small ski resort includes a snowmaking system for snow coverage on all the slopes. It was possible to start ski operations on time on December 20. “It was the first time that we were able to start operations on all of our slopes for the winter season”, the technical director of Skiwelt Schöneck, Markus Schlosser said. “And it worked, because the snowmaking system was very well developed.” The first contact they had with DEMACLENKO was when they rented snow guns in 2014, and then in 2016 they invested in a second line of pumps with infrastructure. Now they are using 24 DEMACLENKO snow guns – for example, TITAN and VENTUS. The snowmaking operations are run using DEMACLENKO’s software Snowvisual 4.0. And next year, further investments are to be made. If everything goes as planned, a cooling tower will be built to make water from the reservoir available for even more efficient snowmaking.
The family skiing and snowboarding resort of Skilifte Notschrei is nestled in the southern Black Forest between Feldberg and Belchen. To offer more fun on the slopes, they invested in a snowmaking system as early as in the 1980s. Three years ago, they began to modernize, commissioning DEMACLENKO with snow guns and installing the necessary infrastructures such as pump stations and field pipelines. Snow for all the slopes and ropeway routes is made using EVO 3.0, TITAN 3.0 on a swivel arm and 2 snow lances, all from DEMACLENKO. The system is operated using the software program Snowvisual 4.0. Everyone there is happy with DEMACLENKO’s performance and service. “At an altitude of roughly 3600 feet where lies our skiing area, it would be impossible to run a ski centre without technical snow. Even at Christmas, it would have been impossible to ski without technical snow,” says Alexander Rees of Steinwasen Park Betriebsgesellschaft mbH. Next spring, if they get the permit, they are thinking about extending their technical snowmaking system for the sledge slope.

PROJECTS 2018 FRANCE
FULL SPEED AHEAD IN FRANCE IN FRANCE, MANY SKI RESORTS PLACED THEIR BETS ON THE QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM OF DEMACLENKO AND INVESTED IN THEIR SNOWMAKING SYSTEMS IN 2018. THIS CORROBORATED THE EXCELLENT WORK OF DEMACLENKO FRANCE, OPENING NEW PROSPECTS FOR FUTURE BIG PROJECTS.
ORCIÈRES MERLETTE
To counter a potential shortage of snow at the beginning of the season, the ski resort Orcières Merlette near Champsaur was equipped with an extensive network of snowmaking machines as early as the 1990s. To strengthen the strategic axes on the main slopes, substantial extensions have been made over the past two years, and a new pumping station was built. For making snow on the slopes, a total of 44 new snow guns (TITAN, EVO) were bought. For comprehensive supply for the machines, 48 new pits were built and the necessary field pipelines were laid. Perfect monitoring of the plant is guaranteed by the Snowvisual software program, which not only provides for smooth operations, but also registers and analyses important data for energy efficient snowmaking.
SEMNOZ
Yet another complete snowmaking solution was implemented in Semnoz. Alongside the new pump station for filling the pool, TITAN X 3.0 snow guns were delivered to provide unbeatable results particularly at marginal temperatures with high air humidity and low pressure. 10 pits including field pipelines complement the snowmaking network. Snowvisual 4.0 offers the final touch with fully automated operations.
LA COLMIANE
In La Colmiane, the pump station was extended in 2018, and the snowmaking network was reinforced with new snowmaking machines. Thanks to its high production, 12 TITAN 3.0 guarantee that the season will start right on time and that the quality of the snow will be optimal. The system is operated using the visualization software Snowvisual 4.0, which has been brought up to date.
LES MÈNUIRES
In Les Menuires, a new complete solution for the section “La Masse” was also implemented. A new pump and a new compressor provide the 18 EOS snow lances with the resources needed for snowmaking.
AVORIAZ
Since last season, several Ventus 4.0’s have been in use in Avoriaz. Thanks to their design by Pininfarina, they have really attracted visitors’ attention on the slopes. Five new EOS lances are providing additional much needed snow to make the pleasures of the slopes unforgettable.

Many guests came to the celebration of the official opening of the new DEMACLENKO East Europe branch office. In their addresses, Anton Seeber and Martin Leitner stressed the importance of DEMACLENKO’s position in this part of Europe. After having started out concentrating on the Alpine market, DEMACLENKO has been able to extend and reinforce its presence continuously throughout the globe over the past years. By founding a branch office in Poland, a new and very promising chapter has opened up for the company. Andreas Dorfmann thanked the guests for showing up in such large numbers and confirmed the growing importance of DEMACLENKO on the international stage. He showed how convinced he was by the strategic decision to open a branch in Bielsko-Biała, offering ski resorts complete solutions at the cutting edge of technology. Bielsko-Biała is in southern Poland on the border to the Czech Republic and Slovakia and therefore in the immediate vicinity of many major winter sport resorts in the Northern Carpathian Mountains. To respond better to demand in local markets and to bundle competences on the site, DEMACLENKO decided to establish this branch office. Bielsko-Biała offers the ideal starting point for designing and implementing turnkey snowmaking solutions in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic states: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Following the official inauguration, participants were able to visit the facilities and get an idea of the broad range of products. Account managers Janusz Nieboras, Yurii Bondarenko and Tomas Rek explained how DEMACLENKO’s complete solutions are operated and work.
