Sue Lewis, Gulfport: “Watching out for each other. Taking care of, watching your neighbor, the neighborhood watch. I have a lot of snowbirds near me, I watch their places when they’re out of town. They tell me if they’re gonna have visitors so I know not to be worried. And I think that’s part of it as well as making the neighborhood better and closer to people. It’s kind of hard to do today, but I think the community is the best. We’re too into me, me, me right now. Individuals don’t count as much as people like to think they do. Because if it was all ‘me’ we’d kill each other.”
Tashawn Muhammad, Childs Park: “The people who live in the community.”
Reno Moor, St. Petersburg: “Strong households because households are families and families make up a community. I come to you by way of Campbell Park Neighborhood Association, but obviously I network with the Childs Park Neighborhood Association so we can bring about a better change in our communities.”
