Friday, April 9 Creative Clay Art Market It’s almost the weekend, so it must be time to peruse all the local art markets St. Petersburg has to offer. Run by the Creative Clay Transition student artists, this open-tent fair will feature ceramics, paintings and other art to benefit students with disabilities. Discover live music by Emily Turnag while you shop and chat with the artists. Baja’s Southern Cooking food truck will be parked outside for all your lunchtime needs. Dinner and Recovery Find freedom from your addiction at Friday recovery meetings with Grace Connection Church. Dinner is at 6 p.m., and is followed by a meeting. All meetings are open to both men and women; confidentiality is a given. Grace Connection Church, 635 64th St. S. 6 p.m.
NUDE Gallery at MIZE The gallery’s newest exhibit, NUDE will feature 50 local artists’ works, all centered around the human body. Tucked away in a small gallery in a Historic Uptown neighborhood of St. Petersburg, the exhibition will explore what it means to be naturally unclothed. MIZE Gallery, 689 Dr. MLK Jr St. N. 6-10 p.m.
Saturday, April 10 Boyd Hill Fun Run Nothing like encouragement and natural Florida plants to get the blood flowing. Run through Florida wildlife in Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every second Saturday of the month. A fitness instructor will meet joggers at the flagpole in front of the Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S. 9-10 a.m.
Veteran’s Park Plaque Dedication Navy veteran, Gulfport resident and war hero Steven J. Robin will be honored with a plaque in memory of his many years of service. Gulfport Councilmember Michael Fridovich will lead the memorial, along with other city officials and speaker Richard Rogala, a crewmember of the USS Pueblo, Robin’s assigned ship.
