What advice would you give to a child going through a rough time?
“Look for help because it’s not always going to be this way.”

“Ask for help, you know, older people, your parents, guardians, peers. That’s what resources are for. Now more than ever, being able to support kids through mental health, stuff like that, the resources are unlimited. So, reaching out, asking for help, realizing that you’re only a kid, your whole life is ahead of you and everything gets better from there. Definitely my greatest advice. Kids are just meant to have fun. Learn, have fun, play, that’s what kids are put on this planet to do.”
“Especially if I knew the child and I know the child has pets, to have them spend some time with the pets. Pets unconditionally love their people. And that opportunity just to spend some quiet time I think would be very soothing to a child.”
“Find a book that relates to your situation, or come to your public library. Our librarians are willing to help you find a book that you can read to feel not so alone. Often, when I read, and I read about characters that are going through what I’m going through, it makes me feel like someone else out there understands what I’m going through. It makes you feel like you have a friend.”
